I heard a little something, and I wanted to verify/clarify it. We are just getting ready to apply for my wife's AOS. I read somewhere that sometimes USCIS doesn't even bring us in for an interview. I guess if all the paperwork is correct, that may be true?

Anyone shed a little light on this?

About 50/50 chance to have an interview when adjusting from K-1. Interview can be waived, it's nothing to do with the paperwork being correct.

Yes, it seems to be completely random who is being picked for an interview and who isn't. I just got a letter saying that my interview might be waived, so I guess I am one of the 'lucky' ones. Interview Waiver processing times are currently running at 8-12 months, so OP, be prepared for a long wait if you get chosen for the Interview Waiver.

I haven't got the letter saying that the interview has been waived, but i guess it has because it have been like 10 mouths since I sent the package. Does everyone gets the letter?

My wife and I were interviewed, and from the other threads I have read recently from those that were notified they would not be interrviewed, I am glad we were as those others seem to be taking longer... Go figure -

you would think that if they review your packet and send you a letter waiving the interview, they may as well just continue to review your info and approve it at that point...

We sent the AOS papers in February, Biometrics in March, and I was approved yesterday w/o interview. I didn't get any letter at all. Just boom! approved

Same here. Maybe the case load at USCIS determines interview selection numbers. Seems if you make it through the K visa process and all the (insanity) checks an interview for AOS seems pointless.

We never got a letter for an interview. We never got a letter waiving the interview. We just waited 11 months and got approved. So fun!

So just out of curiosity, how long does it take to know whether you get interviewed or not? Do you have to wait until you get some kind of notification about your green card or do they tell you 'hey show up on this day'? I read before that the interview is random, but now I'm kind of wondering how long it takes to get your documents after the AOS...
