Since most states are now "shall issue" they have to issue to someone who meets all the requirements. Blind folks usually have no issue completing the required training. Yes, it's that easy.

Rocket launchers, RPGs and small nukes should be covered by the second amendment, too. Sure they're dangerous but so is everything else, right?

You mean they're NOT covered under the 2A? When I read it, "arms" is what it refers to. I don't see anything in there about which arms. Just because the federal government has restricted the possession, sale, transfer of, etc., doesn't mean they're still not covered under the 2A. Our founders had cannons, mortars, etc. Why shouldn't we?

if you stood 5 persons that I know say 30 feet away

The majority of self defense shootings take place at 9-15 feet. Think that over for a moment.... can you not close your eyes and figure out if you're in danger at that distance?

I'm not saying you could pick out one person in a crowded place. I'm saying if the situation arose where someone was attacking you, could you not use all your other senses to figure out you were in danger? Concealed carry isn't about picking out the one guy in the crowd, it's about countering an immediate threat that's close enough to kill you.

Many people who can see just fine end up involved in shootings that happen at night or in low light situations where they can't see well at all. Sometimes the person they shoot is on top of them bashing their head into the ground. Don't really need your eyes for that one, do you?

What difference does it make

Seems like I've heard that before...

link?

He's talking about us, Charles!. Well, me, at least.

And I don't even mind. Folks can say whatever they want about my right to defend myself. Their opinion will change rapidly if they ever need to defend themselves. If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

The NRA is freaking BRILLIANT!

And I thought religion had cornered the market.

All praise that blue steel! lmao

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Seems to me this is more about what the actual law is, and what legally the locals can and can not do legally. This seems to be more about the ADA than gun rights, and both sides of this are taking a position that is not in the article.

I thought most people are in favor of making ample accommodations for the disabled.

What if a legally blind person wants to own firearms for investment ? Should the law discriminate ?

what if blind person owned a chainsaw shop. Should we deny them this right, because it would be foolish for a blind person to use a chainsaw.

How about own a car, that a family members usesto drive them. Opps can't own a car because you can't drive.

I think you have to give a blind person the benefit of doubt, and assume they would not do something stupid, like target practicing on their own and there are lots of laws already on the book to cover any misdeed they should commit.

Not sure why this is or would be a problem or would even be discussed by adults with functioning brains.

How many blind CC permit holders have been a problem? Any? Ever? Has there been a rash of blind, CC permit holders shooting up the place? Or is this just another attempt to place restrictions based on some "disabilty"? Next it will be anyone with a leg amputation or who cut off a finger on a table saw. There simply is nothig to support any objection to this and plenty of reason NOT to restrict the rights of blind people.

Issuing a blanket statement that "blind people cannot carry concealed" simply makes them easy targets. It is proposed by people who have no knowledge or do not care about WHY CC is effective in reducing crime. This whole issue is NONSENSE.

Vermont allows ANY person to carry concealed, including blind, gay, transgender lesbians visiting from Canada...and NEVER has a blid person shot anyone while carrying concealed firearms in public.

After losing two recall elections in Colorado, the fascists are desperate.

I believe in equal rights for ALL, unless those rights have been removed by due process.
