Staple or Paperclip Documents?

I am getting ready to send all of my documents to my lawyer so he can assemble the packet.

I did full color front/back copies of everything exactly as they are. I figured color is better than black/white. Is that ok? Hope so.

Is it ok that I staple the papers together that complete one document? For example, the marriage certificate translation is 4 pages and I would like to staple it. Then I have the original which is a couple pages and I would like to staple that. Then I would like to put a paperclip on all of them together for the marriage cert requirement.

What do you guys think? Should I just paperclip everything and let the lawyer decide?

Is there anything against stapling documents for the immigration process?

I will probably start a firestorm of replies with USCIS and my AOS package at NVC I punched two holes at the top and used ACCO fastener clips I stamped my case number on the upper part of the forms I'm sure your lawyer will reorganize and bind I feel staples will slow down the process I think if you had something small like a check I would then staple it. There is a lot of post about these fasteners I think I even saw one where NVC doesn't want them but I searched there site and could find it but I think it looks professional and organized and someone posted there interview they would hole punch the top and clip them in the file good luck but I would use minimum of staples

There are 2 assembly instructions. This one for NVC: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD specifically states NO acco fasteners.

This one (called general): http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD states acco are fine and to avoid "heavy staples".

I put each document in its own plastic slipcover (three ring) and labeled a post-it note with the title or description of the document on the first page. No staples or clips.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Don't staple anything, use paperclips and those large black binder clips to hold your file together. Use of plastic slip covers, 3 ring binders, divider folders, etc. is a waste of effort because once the file arrives at USCIS, it will be disassembled and then reassembled according to their own preference (files are also disassembled so they can be scanned).

I would also discourage using both sides of a piece of paper as information on the "back" side of the paper may be missed.
