Facts:

We got married in the US on August 3, 2013.

Expiration of my K1 visa is on November.

My I-94 is set to expire on October 13, 2013.

I have a learner's permit which will expire on October 13, 2013 (the DMV based it on my I-94).

We filed the application for AOS last August 31, 2013. We got the NOA1 in the mail today.

Question:

We live in Phoenix, Arizona and we booked a flight to Colorado for Thanksgiving this November... by that time, my I-94, K1 visa, and learner's permit will already be expired.

1.) Will the TSA let me fly if I show them my foreign passport with the expired visa and expired learner's permit? Those are pretty much the only proof I have.

2.) Is there another way I can prove that I'm allowed to stay here while USCIS is processing my application for AOS? I don't think I can use the NOA1 since it says "this notice does not grant any immigrant status or benefit."

July 13, 2013 = Arrived in the U.S. (Port of Entry: Hawaii)

August 3, 2013 = Got married!

August 29, 2013 = Mailed application for Adjustment of Status

September 7, 2013 = Received NOA1

October 1, 2013 = Biometrics done.

November 20, 2013 = Scheduled interview.

December 2, 2013 = Green Card received! The letter said they approved my application on Nov 22.

NOA 1 = Sept. 7, 2014

Biometrics = October 1, 2014

Interview = October 20, 2014

Green card received = October 22, 2014

Soon as you landed in US the K1 is no good after. Traveling around the country you only need ID. You are fine. You need no Visa. Just don't leave the US is all.

You can use your drivers license just ID is needed.

Once you filed for AOS, you entered a new period of authorized stay, the expiration date on the I-94 is now irrelevant. Dwheels already pointed out the irrelevancy of the K1 visa. TSA will let you fly with your foreign passport alone.

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Already called TSA. Gotta bring some docs like marriage certificate since my ticket is in my new name. But other than that I dont think there will be a problem.
