Florida Driver's License?

Hi there

I've spoken to the DMV about this multiple times, but it seems nobody has a straight answer for me.

Can we get her a driver's license without a green card? Do we have to marry first? Nobody at the DMV knows what a K-1 visa is nor an I-94..

You need to have work permit in order to apply for it!

You can get a temp one, that is what I had as a student visa, you need to renew it every year until you get a green card then you can get a permanent one.

The K-1 with an unexpired I-94 should be ok, but it will only be valid for the time the I-94 is. Some workers may not be familiar with the the K visa. After you file for AOS and get the EAD, you can get another temporary one for a year. Go back when she gets her green card to update her status as an immigrant and permanent resident, then she will get one good for the usual amount of time as anyone else gets.

From my understanding, You can get a Florida ID valid for the time left with the K1. (90) days ... Once expired you will have to wait for EAD to gat the next ID. Florida will require they take the drivers test in order to get an actual Drivers licence... Now, I will clue you that this will take a LOT of haggeling and probably a supervisor to accomplish this. Also, Florida has the law to show govt issued ID, SSN card, and 2 other forms if I'd showing residence... But good luck!
