If you want your case# instead of waiting longer for email of the case3 call NVC. All NOA2's for K1 say it goes to embassy. But it has to first make a stop at NVC for case3 assignment than off to embassy.

You should contact NVC but in any case USCIS will inform you when they send the petition over to NVC if it was approved at the Texas Service Center. In any case you should start calling NVC like one after approval, because it may take a bit for them to get the petition and put it in the system.

I have been told that DOS (Department of State) can also give you the same info that NVC give you. You can get your case number from DOS. I believe DOS have not long changed their number, and have been told they have shorter phone wait times and can be a little nicer *giggles*

I got my NOA2 on the 5th of August and I called on the 26th and was able to get our case # so give them a couple of weeks. Once you've got your case #, you can email the embassy to get your interview date if you're impatient like me and don't want to wait for the packet to arrive.

Good luck and congrats!
