Hello VJ Friends...

The CR1 Spouse Visa process continues. Next (hopefully) logical step is to get the interview date in Rio BUT there is some confustion as to the medical and vaccinations.

My 38 year old wife has no vaccination records.

Conflicing research is showing from 3 to 10 required vaccinations.

1) Does she have to get the medical exam from a physician ONLY approved by the Embassy?

2) Which vaccines are required?

3) I think it is the TB test that requires the 'test administered' then a 'reading' which, I think, should be done well in advance of the interview.

4) IF she can complete the vaccines in her city then can she bring the vaccine list she received to the exam?

5) I read blood tests, breast exams, gynecological exams... can these be done weeks in advance? Again, by whom? Her physician or ONLY the approved Embassy doctor?

6) I read that the doctor will MAIL the results to the Embassy prior to the interview. Logic dictates it is not a good idea to show up in Rio a week before the interview then go through the exam process. Agreed?

What are your experiences and valued advice for going through this next step in preparing for the interview? Would you wait until the interview is established before starting the exam and vaccines?

VJ Friends.. you have been a great help and for those completed the Journey, congratulations. For those in the journey my sincerest hope and prayers for your happy conclusion. Cheers to all.

Dave

Hi Dave,

1) She needs to go to a physician approved by Rio Embassy only.

4) She can complete the vaccines in her city and bring to the doctor, actually could be cheaper once many public hospitals offer the vaccination for free. She just needs to take the vaccination card.

6) I recommend you to have more time to do the exam and get the results, maybe a week prior is not enough, do not open the envelope btw.

5) All the tests will be done by the same physician.

I have not gone through this process but I read about this...good luck!
