Can I slowly move my belongings to the US

We filed I-130 in July. I plan on visiting my husband in the US in a few days. Due to circumstances I have had to move in with a relative and have sold most my big household stuff. So can I slowly move my stuff to the US on every visit him and I make to each other ie bedding, towels, pots and pans, picture frames stuff like that, I don't have any big furniture left, so it's all smaller stuff.

You can but the border guards could miscontrue that as you're moving that day and you could be turned back. I wanted to do this too, but honestly more hassle than what you could really bring.

Ship it or car rental I'm sure because our borders meet u can rent a us car at the border

I wouldn't recommend that. If they feel that you are moving unlawfully, then they can deny you and you'll have a red flag and be hassled every single time you cross. This happened to my husband on the Canadian side even though we weren't at all attempting what you are thinking of doing.

If you really need to do this, then I'd suggest shipping the items to his home and avoid crossing with them.

I'm sure one could bring a few items, and I mean a few......if the POE office thinks you are going to be staying (living) in the USA, you may find yourself denied entry! Have al the proff you want that your going to return, but a car load of stuff, or many suitcases sort of signals to them, that your intentions are otherwise!

Well the POE officer will ask if anything is remaining in the United States, so, to not incite a red flag from that question, the OP would have to lie about the items in the vehicle.

Who knows what a POE officer will ask----I have driven and flown many times back in the early 2000's when we went through the process......When I drove did I bring items--yes a very few, I never had a problem, and was never asked any questions! But why risk it.

You won't be able to ship the stuff before getting your visa. The shipping company will need a copy of it.

A copy of what? Your visa? I don't see why shipping through USPS or fedex, what have you, would be restricted, people ship items all the time between residential places.

Sure, you could send your stuff a bit at a time via those methods, and say their "gifts" or whatever, but it might cost you a fortune, depending on how much you have. I had 16 boxes of stuff to move, and I used Shipsmart (and yes, they needed a copy of my visa and my I-94, so the stuff couldn't actually cross the border until I did). I can't say I'd recommend them, though. Their customer service was #######.

It seems as though it isn't 16 boxes worth, that's why I figured if it's that important to send the items now, simple shipping wouldn't be so bad, like you said as "gifts". It would definitely cost something to ship. I didn't know that some companies request a copy of the visa, that's interesting to know!

Either way, it's probably just best to rent a storage space (if you need to) and wait until you can legally move the items.

If ur using a moving company, and other shippers, they require a copy of the endorsed Visa---which you get after you POE with it----so one has to scan it, then email or mail it back to the shipping company!

Moral of the story - it's not worth the bother or the $$$ to figure out how to move your stuff pre-VISA. Eith the border dudes will think you're moving or you'll be lying about it somehow.

Now if your husband was with the stuff and driving it - he could say he's bringing personal belongings back home - that he would be allowed to do

why risk it if they pull you into secondary, your car searched, they suspect you are moving to USA before the completion of your immigrtion, you are red flagged then barred from entering pending your approval. There was a VJ who tried to bring over some household items...pulled into secondary; she was barred from entering the USA pending completion of her immigration ( which was 6-8 months away ) and then went into AP at her interview because of the red flag on her passport. I would not risk it...
