Hi noahsmama,

I got referred to you by Darnell.. I'm also doing the IR5 for my wife's parents and our case just got "Ready for Interview" today (changed from "In Transit" a few days ago);

Can you answer a few questions when you have time? Thanks.

1) Darnell told me I can go on ustravelsgov to schedule an interview once I get the P4; I have been doing some research online (here and other websites like CandleForLove, ImmigrateUS and others) stating that you can schedule the interview beforehand (however, the consulate advises against it) and possibly get the medical (or even the interview) assigned without getting the P4 letter?

2) Let's say I create an interview for 2 months later (according to Darnell and other estimates I read).. What happens if before I don't receive the P4 by then? Can I cancel online or reschedule? If I let the appointment pass without canceling, will it look bad on my interview?

Thanks,

gogo

Darnell,

Thank you for the link!!!!

I am confused. My mother received a white sheet with " your visa has been approved" stated on top of the letter but check marked request for two additional documents on the bottom:

1) my husband's I-864A . The reason for that: I am married even though my income is way above the guidelines.

2) Most recent notarized police record. The one we submitted was issued on May 2012.

ya, my wife got the same thing. view it as 'approved but pending'. Pending on what? Those documents ! It's dead easy to get the stuff to your Mom, then she can waddle over to a CITIC Bank location to drop off stuff. For my wife, transit was 3 days, then another day of internal shuffle, then another day for the 'ISSUED' status on CEAC to show up.

If they kept her passport, great. If they didn't keep her passport, she'll need to send it in with the packet .

from your list, 1 and 2 must be originals - an emailed scanned I-864A won't cut it, at all.

Darnell,

Do you think I should amend my I-864? I just realized that they have updated the form.
