Getting ready for the interview - questions

Hi everyone, appreciate some advice from those who have been through the UK Consulate experience.

We have received packet 4 with the interview letter, my husband is USC.

1) the London Consulate websites says that a copy of all previous marriage certificates needs to be shown - has anyone been asked for this document in the past? We are struggling to lay our hands on my husband's previous marriage cert (it was a long time ago!)

2) Is there an additional visa payment to be made on the day or in advance? Seems there are several references to paying an additional fee but I can't find anything in the interview letter about this.....we filed our i-130 petition with the National Benefits Centre which was then processed by NVC and all relevant fees were paid to NVC.

3) Should I expect to receive packet 3 from the consulate? Now I have the interview letter I don't think I need fill any other forms?

As always, really appreciate any help and guidance :)

Copies of divorce decrees is on the I-130 list of required documents. Contact the County Gov office in the state the divorce was finalized...Vital Statistics...you need to order/purchase a certified copy of the final judgement.

There is a $165 USCIS Immigrant fee. Go to www.USCIS.gov...do a search on USCIS Immigrant Fee...there are instructions on how to pay this fee.

Thanks so much for the quick reply JA_Martinez

I already have the divorce decree but the consulates interview notes also say we should have the actual marriage certificate for this previous marriage.....to be honest this was a surprise as I haven't seen anything on this topic before??

Thanks for the visa fee link.....knew there was one but couldn't remember where I'd seen it :))

I did the K1, but to my knowledge no previous marriage certificates have ever been asked for at the London embassy for spouse or fiancé. Your current marriage certificate and all other documents were sent to NVC. They will all be at your interview. The only thing you might not have sent is DS-230 part 2.

I (USC) did not provide my prior marriage certificate, nor did my British fiancé and we are referred to the same list for London as you are.

Did you also read this instruction letter http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/IV018_iv_appt_letter.pdf

It tells you how to pay for the courier in advance of your interview. Follow it exactly. There is another fee to USCIS (not embassy) that must be paid before the greencard is issued. I don't have a bookmark, but somebody will give it to you. It does not have to be paid before the interview. Most pay before POE.
