Proving Domicile when USC Living Abroad

Hi,
I'm USC living abroad since 2009. I learned there in highschool. I had to come back after finish my school. In the meantime i met my wife. We decided to get married when she finished her high school (2013). I filed the CR-1 in July 2013 and waiting for NoA2 . My concern is the issue of domicile because I have been out of the US since Jul 2009. My driver's licence has expired in 2010. What should I do to prove domicile. It will be a big problem? Im scared... :(

If you haven't maintained domicile in the US (bank account etc), you should prove that you have taken "valid and concrete steps" to show your intent of establish domicile in the US.

This may mean: looking for work, going back to school, looking for a condo and giving up the one you have. Quitting your job and keeping a copy of the letter etc.

August 15, 2013 Received case number after enquiry. Booked medical and sent packet 3 forms.

August 31, 2013 Medical

Sept 18, 2013 Packet 3 forms logged into the system

Sept 24, 2013 Packet 4 received (dated September 19)

October 4, 2013 Interview *approved*

October 9, 2013 Passport received

You need to prove your intent to re-establish US domicile. You can do that by showing the "concrete" steps referred to by Dbkrantz. Open US bank account, get a new driver's license or state id, line up a job or school to attend, register to vote, show plans on where you will live (get a lease, live with parents, etc)and hopefully you have been filing your US income tax returns ! (you are not exempt from filing just because you live abroad)

Did you fill the tax returns from the past 3 years? If not, you will need to fill them ASAP or provide with reasons as to why they were not filed.

As mentioned by slvrfx576, living abroad does not exempt you from filling tax returns.
