This might sound silly, but I just want to make sure. Do I still have to print out DS-230 Part II and submit during my interview? I know I only need to fill-up Part 1, but the signature part on the last page concerns me.

Another question, do I have to write "n/a" or "None" for extra blanks? Like for example, DS-230, Question #30: List below places you have lived for atleast 6 months since reaching the age of 16 ... There are 8 rows of blanks, but I only stayed at 5 places. Do I write "None" in the remaining 3 lines?

Thanks in advance, guys! smile.png

Your ds230 form will be rejected as you require to fill only ds260 not ds 230.

Hi,

I think the DS 260 is not applicable on a K1 visa applicant.

Your ds230 form will be rejected as you require to fill only ds260 not ds 230.

Evidence that it WILL be rejected, please?

Otherwise you are just spreading more misinformation. If you actually bother to look at the form itself, you will note that while we K1's do get a case number, we don't (at this point) get an invoice number from the NVC, meaning we can't really log in to complete DS-260. Furthermore, if you actually bothered to read the Department of State website, you'll see it mentions I-130 petitions rather than I-129F petitions. So if people are going down the CR1/IR1 route they need to fill out a DS-260 if their embassy requires it.

OP, to answer your questions:

1) No, you don't put "none" in the blank lines regarding previous places you've lived. If you don't need to answer a question because it's not relevant or if you don't know the answer, put N/A or Not Known respectively.

2) As K Visa applicants we don't need Part II of the DS-230. What happens at your interview is that you will sign the bottom part of DS-156K as your oath that you're going to get married in 90 days and that you're free to do so and all. Essentially the DS-156K is our DS-230 Part II.

"What's yours is mine!"

  • If CEAC provides you with the option of completing a DS-260 (note it may be grayed-out because you have not paid your Immigrant Visa Fee), you are required to complete the DS-260.

We have paid our visa through the bank, thats the instruction for K1 visa applicant.

  • If CEAC provides you with online payment information only, you are NOT required to complete the DS-260.

CEAC did not provide us with online payment information.

  • If your petition did not go through the NVC process (for example, you filed your petition overseas), your invoice ID number will be the principal applicant’s date of birth (YYYYMMDD).

We tried to check it with our MNL# and my date of birth,it didn't work.

I could be wrong Ryan but What i heard that all ds-230 forms are online now AS DS-260. I am not aware of the fact that k1 visa is not immigrant visa that was mistake on my end. So if they are not applying for immigrant visa, why they have to fill out ds-230 Application for immigrant visa and Alien registration. What is ds-156 form? I am little confused here because As far as I know, DS-230 is for application for immigrant visa and alien registration.

Immigrant Visas

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS

Effective September 1, 2013, the DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application & Registration, and DS-261, Choice of Address and Agent will replace the paper-based DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (parts I and II) and the DS-3032, Choice of Address and Agent. The DS-260 and DS-261 are fully integrated online electronic visa application forms used to collect the necessary application information from persons seeking immigrant visas. These online forms are completed and submitted online to the Department of State via the Internet through the Consular Electronic Applications Center (CEAC). The forms may be partially completed, saved online to finish, and submitted later; or the forms can be completed and submitted in a single session.

To determine if your petition began processing in time to join the program and to access Form DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application, and Form DS-261, Choice of Address and Agent, click Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website. After logging in, follow the directions displayed noting the following:

If CEAC provides you with the option of completing a DS-260 (note it may be grayed-out because you have not paid your Immigrant Visa Fee), you are required to complete the DS-260.

If CEAC provides you with online payment information only, you are NOT required to complete the DS-260.

If your petition did not go through the NVC process (for example, you filed your petition overseas), your invoice ID number will be the principal applicants date of birth (YYYYMMDD).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Review the DS-260 FAQs if you must complete the online DS-260 form.

If you have questions or need assistance, please click Online Immigrant Visa Forms or contact the NVC.

Immigrant and Fiance(e) Visa applicants with previously scheduled appointments and who were affected by the recent inclement weather are encouraged to follow the recommended action outlined below:

If you were unable to reschedule your appointment and/or arrive at the U.S. Embassy on August 19, 20 & 22, please contact our visa information service at 02-982-5555 or 02-902-8930 to schedule an appointment for a date that matches your availability. The Visa Information and Appointment Service is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Manila time), except on Philippine and U.S. holidays. Please have your case number, passport number, and passport expiry date for each applicant (principal applicant and derivative family members) ready when requesting for a visa appointment, even if you already provided this information at an earlier date.

Welcome to the Immigrant Visa Unit Homepage

You should be able to find answers to many of your questions about the immigrant visa process on this website. If you are interested in filing a petition for a fiancé (e) or family member, please see the Who can apply for an Immigrant Visa and see what steps you need to take to begin this process. If you have already filed a petition or have had a petition filed for you, and your case is current, please see the Immigrant Visa Appointment section on the left side of this page. If you have questions about a specific case, or after reviewing this information have other questions, please contact the Immigrant Visa Unit by fax, e-mail, or mail.

Applicants who cannot or choose not to return to the Embassy with the completed forms by 10:00 am will be advised to reschedule the interview by visiting the online appointment website at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph or by calling the Call Center at (632) 982-5555 or (632) 902-8930.

As from the NVC or DOS for K1 you dont have to fill out the DS 260....It must be DS 160..this is the new updates

http://travel.state.gov/visa/questions/news/news_4413.html

Show All | Hide All

Effective immediately, all K visa applicants are required to complete the DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. The DS-160 replaces forms DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-230.

For K visa cases already in process at a U.S. embassy or consulate, the DS-160 is not required when, prior to October 7, 2013, one of the following situations exist:
  • The K visa applicant is already scheduled for an interview.
  • The K visa applicant has already been interviewed and has been requested to submit additional documentation or is pending administrative processing.
  • The K visa applicant has already submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230 or received instructions to do so.

Please read the instruction from NVC sent to you or the package 3 and 4.

And Here's the link for the steps from applying I129f to K1 visa:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#6

Hope this will help you guys.
