POUTINE! Buffalo Wild Wings in the USA is now serving poutine! You have no idea how excited I was when I opened the menu last night and say in big letters 'POUTINE'. My heart almost skipped a beat!

It was the best, most delicious thing I have had in the last 9 months since we haven't been back to Canada since December.

So if you are a displaced Canadian in the USA you can go to Buffalo Wild Wings and get a home delicacy. I guess it is only for a limited time so make sure you get there soon!

DH might just have to make a trip to Grand Rapids. We live down in Battle Creek, MI. He got all excited when I told him Buffalo Wild Wings has Poutine.

It's so funny to see people excited about poutine. I honestly never had it before my trip to Montreal for the interview. But then I've never liked gravy on my fries.

However nacho fries are awesome! Especially if you use the "waffle" or "lattice" fries. OMG... i'm hungry now... THANKS!!!!

(ps... i'm happy you guys are stoked about a little piece of Canadiana. I kinda miss it sometimes too. Even just going to the grocery store. I can't find the things I want to buy and it's so annoying. )

I think I have mentioned it a few times but I never even heard of poutine before I joined VJ.. I too am not crazy about gravy with my fries. I like plain old ketchup. I do like chilli fries once in awhile though..

Whenever my mom visits or I fly home, I make sure we bring back couple pouches of St.Hubert poutine sauce. With Wisconsin cheese curds+fries=yum!

We were at the one on Alpine in Grand Rapids. They definitely have it! :-) So worth the trip, my friend.

When I last went up to visit friends/family in Canada over Christmas, my one friend tried to finally get me to try out the poutine stuff. Totally weird. I like fries and gravy, but not like that. Reminds me of chili cheese fries which I'm not a fan of either. I asked my mother about it and told her my one friend here has always asked what it was like and figures it's really popular up in Canada. My mother said she has never had it either and that it's mainly in Quebec. Though now I have seen several stores in Toronto that serve just that....

Yeah my husband is from Ontario and they actually have poutineries that you can go and get it with different toppings on it and such. Burger King even has poutine in Ontario. It's weird but so good!

I'm from ON - I always liked the New York Fries version but I'll settle for Harvey's in a pinch - poutine has been around forever in ON

The Buffalo Wild Wings here in Salt Lake City, which just opened this year, said they had poutine when I called them, even if it isn't on the menu, so I went and tried it.

It's pretty good, but it doesn't really match my personal definition of poutine. In Winnipeg's large French quarter, "poutine" is fries with tiny cheese curds mixed in uniformily among the fries, then drowned in gravy hot enough to melt the cheese, so you have melty cheese all throughout the mess of fries.

What BWW sold me was fries with numerous small nuggets of fried mozzarella (like sectioned mozzarella sticks) on top, with a lightbtopping of gravy, and tiny flecks of tomato and red onion on top.

If you double or triple the amount of gravy, and make sure that every forkful has at least one cheese nugget, you get a taste similar to poutine. It's close, but not quite the real thing. I don't know if I'll get it again, but if I do, I'll definitely have more gravy on it.

I never saw it much at all in Ontario during the 80's or early 90's when I lived there. Now it seems it's become a lot more popular since then. Neither New York Fries nor Harvey's had them when I was growing up (they did have gravy though). But seems they have now invaded Ontario quite a bit in the later 90's and 2000's.

Where they expensive at Buffalo Wild Wings? Their wings I know are one of the most expensive (I'm a wing fan, just don't like their wings or prices). So I'm imagining it wasn't cheap to get there.

Speaking of poutine, there's a football gathering at a bar downtown this Sunday and they are actually advertising poutine on the menu as well. Never saw that at a bar before here, but kind of interesting...
