I also hired a lawyer, and he was shocked that we got an RFE... Unfortunately, I just called the translation service, and they are not answering, I'm in the process of typing an email to them now.

I need the wording on their official stamped, "I translated this" page to be more... firm. The original ones say, "I translated this to the best of my ability" and they need to be more like, "I am officially certified in both Englsih and Spanish, and this is a correct word for word translation."

Now that I see that was the problem (as well as some wording regarding out unknown wedding date in my affidavit--OOPS) it seems so obvious that would be a problem.....

We are also with the California service center, and my lawyer received the official blue RFE....

Yay! Me and my fiancé met in April 2013 as well.. Hehehe.. But we've been in a relationship for almost 5 years, we planned to meet after I graduated in university so that no hassle and yes we did but delayed two years because for some reason he had way back 2011. I did the whole i129f packet, he sent me what we needed in the packet, except the forms that needed his signatures and I'm happy I was the one who assembled the packet, print etc, but of course my fiancé sent me money for the expenses and all. I've read the guides here in VJ so that we didnt need to hire a lawyer, they just want your money hehehe.

Hehe it looks like we are in the same path hahaha.. We been inlove for 8 years but for reason as well year 2009-10 hahaha he is immigrant and got his USC end of year 2011 and we planned for k1 since 2012 but one of the requirements is meeting in person in two years and due to some issue he wasn't able to come home last year hehhe that's why we were just start k1 this year hehehe then RFE surprise us lol.

For me i really don't want to hire a lawyer but then my f is kinda busy with his work and with his car lol and he don't want me to be busy with anything else but to him i got no choice than to hire a lawyer hahaha...

Hey jen, i am always online keep me posted if you have any new updates with the rfe huh;).. At first upon seeing our status i wanna cry when it was RFE and not approval but now i am keep going back in the track knowing some positive feedback from other vjers.. You know what i told to my f from now on i will arrange everything coz i don't trust your lawyer hahaha then he just reply "ok" lol..

Hahaha VJ is here to help us all, also we have to check USEM Manila website. So you're fiancé is a Filipino? Yay! Same culture same traditions, no problem lol.. Me I had to explain to my fiance everything about our culture and traditions. Nosebleed lol.. Anyways, ill keep you posted about our case

Oh unfortunately the consul or immigration staff handling your case is so good even your lawyer didn't expect that use of wording can cause rfe i guess i do have a good consul as well coz base on our lawyer we submitted everything they need.

In your intent to marry yes you need to state marrying your f within 90 days period and have original signature on it.

Hahaha so funny but true i guess we do have same love story in here hahaha, it made me sad coz rfe delays the process of being with my f huhuhu i wish everything goes well.. Yes, he is filipino hahaha i can feel you i've know some people whose having hard time explaining all things with their f also but the important thing is the same feeling you've shared and have for each other.

Anyone who been in RFE before pls. Pls share your experiences with us like what are the additional evidences they need and how long it will take before you receive your noa2. Your shared experiences will serve as a big help for me and for those people who are in the same RFE journey. It is so frustrating after a long waits from noa1 and after hiring a lawyer still we been experiencing RFE (so sad and disappointed). Thank you in advance my fellow vjers your advice, idea and experience is a big help for us to over come this rfe process.

Hi,

I received NOA2 via e mail case status " RFE" on June 15, 2013; so far I have not received a hard copy of the RFE in the mail. Made several calls to USCIS, spoke with the INS supervisor, made e request. but did not get any where, to his date I still do not have the hard copy of the RFE. I contacted my congress woman, her office was very helpful to me they received a scanned copy of the RFE and the same was forwarded to me via e mail by her office yesterday and I a mailing my documents this coming Monday. Hope once they are received by USCIS will be processed swiftly.

I received an RFE as well (9/5/13) and I'm 99.9% certain it is because I forgot to provide translated docs as well. Fortunately I knew this would more than likely happen so I sought the service of Rev . Com and have the translations ready and waiting! Whew! I we are thru CSC so hopefully the review & approval will come soon after I send in what is requested ;-)

For me is is a horrible waiting in this process, we are November filers, November 26, 2012, our NOA1, Nobember 28,2012, waiting 5 months and in May 24, 2013, our RFE, my Divorce decree evidence, we sending an Uscis recive our responseof evidence on jun, 23, 2013, waiting 60 day, over the processing time and stil waiting!!!, uscis calls, e- request and infopass and the only response it is that we are in the process continue waiting, Vermont it is on too much applications and slow with a lot of work, so sadley still waiting.

Sad to hear It's been 2 mos i read from other threads they said 60 days is the waiting period for rfe some called their ombudsman or senator after a week they case has been prioritized. I hope you can get your noa2 asap..

Hello people! Im very sad and worried about RFE. My boyfriend receive the letter printed on august 06.On August 08 we sent the evidence request , but so far not received a notification tha they receveid our case. Im alreary more than a month and I have no response

translations of what documents if I may ask?

The documents where in our initial I-129 packet, they were the letters of affidavit from my fiance and my future mother in law. We think that the translations themselves were fine, but the translator's certificate at the end (with the stamp) was not worded the best. It was "translated to the best of his ability" and it didn't say something to the effect of, "this is an accurate word for word translation from Spanish to English."

I also had a question, if anyone knows about the intent to marry form? I made a mistake, and I did not send the intent to marry forms... My future husband only speaks Spanish. Can I have him sign an intent to marry form in English? Or would I have to have him type up one in Spanish and have it translated?

Thoughts? Comments? Thank you for the input!

Hello Guys,

I am on the same boat. My RFE was on July 26. I sent the requested info on August 6(overnight) and my case status was updated on the 7th. I thought that was fast but unfortunately not with the NOA2. So today, officially would be more than 30 days and still counting and waiting... I hope and pray that everybody gets their approval soon..
