@zeen: Yes. Form 1040 is the corresponding ITR in US. Specifically, it's the petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return. For this year's submission during visa interview, it must be the 1040 for the year of 2012. You need to submit this with the petitioner's I-134 Affidavit of support, Wage statements (W2), Employment letter (certification) with salaries and Bank statements. These will all provide proof that the petitioner is capable of supporting the beneficiary upon entry to US.
