Court and Prison Records: Persons who have been convicted of a crime must obtain a certified copy of each court record and any prison record, regardless of the fact that he or she may have subsequently benefited from an amnesty, pardon or other act of clemency or the United Kingdom Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. (DOES NOT APPLY TO APPLICANTS CONVICTED IN THE United Kingdom)

Would this mean that you don't have to supply this information if convicted of a criminal office in the UK.

I don't know if we have ever figured out why it says that. If you have a caution in the UK, for example, they generally want you to bring a subject access report in addition to the police certificate. A police report that says "no trace" is good. If it says "no LIVE trace" you should order a subject access report or a memorandum of conviction. They want to see something in writing that names the charge and how it was settled. Of course if it went to court, then court records.
