We got through filing in January 2013 through NBC. One of 2 reasons. First, it's possible we got in right at the very beginning of the NBC processing so were through quickly. Second, they actually screwed our petition up which may have helped. They assumed for some reason (even though the petition paperwork stated otherwise) that my wife was in the USA filing for change of status which was not true. As a result, our petition was transferred to the local office where it sat until march when we hunted it down and corrected their misunderstanding. Of corse then they screwed up again and just sat on the petition after NOA2 instead of sending it to NVC, but that's another story in of itself.

You're not being transferred to a local office, you're being transferred to a service center. You can expect 2 more transfer emails. We don't know why we're all getting three emails, it seems to be some kind of a glitch.

If you don't want to wait for the hardcopy to come in the mail, you can call and get transferred to a tier 2 and ask where it was transferred to.

How long it takes from transfer to approval depends on which service center you're going to, and a bit of plain, old, dumb luck. They don't appear to be processing the files in any kind of order, so when you'll get approval is anyone's guess.

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting. If they don't approval or send an RFE for my case shortly, I will be at the 60 day mark.

They're not working today. But I'd call first thing tomorrow and try to put in a service request, at the very least. If I don't get some kind of movement on my case by Monday, I'm going to work on recontacting everyone, Senators, Ombudsman, Service Center (again) Service Center HQ, etc. etc. etc. And I swear, if I hear that I need to be patient one more time from them, I'm going to lose a head gasket.
