Hey guys!

I'm new to the site and I would like to know if anyone can help me with this. I recently received my NO2 and I want to get ready for the process at the NVC. I know I need to file the Affidavit of Support soon and I have a question about that. I know I have to submit my tax return transcripts for the last three years. I'm good with 2012 and 2011, but during 2010 I didn't work much, so my income for 2010 is kind of low. Would I have any problem with this? Would I have to have another sponsor to sign the affidavit of support along with me?

Thanks for your help

I am just now going through the process myself so there are others that will more than likely know how the process works better than I do. My fiance will be having his interview in about 2 weeks but I can tell you what we are doing. I believe that for the interview (K1) you only need the most current federal tax form (although I sent the past three to be safe) and the three tax returns will be mandatory in the future (when your partner reaches the US, adjustment of status maybe?). I also think that you only need a co-sponsor if your current earnings do not meet the income limits. I am very interested to hearing what others say, just to make sure we are doing it correctly also smile.png

Best of luck to you! smile.png

That's fine as long you have a job for at least 6 months, submit a copy of your 2010, write to them and explain that you do not have a job during that year

I did my bro-in-law paper work and he doesn't have a job for 2 years, submitted his 2012, no proof of income 2011 and 2010 but still submitted tax transcripts, petition approved

Thanks OfficerD for your response.

I started at a new job back in April this year. Would that have any negative effect in my Affidavit of Support? I just want to get all the facts together 'cause I want the process to go as smooth as possible.

Also, do you know how I find out that my case has been received by NVC? Will the USCIS status case show anything about this? I have found the e-mail service quite unreliable as they didn't e-mail me when the NO2 was mailed.

Thanks again!
