This is right off the USCIS Instructions for filing I-765. I believe only 4. pertains to us unless this thread had morphed into something else lately. I also believe 2015 comes after 2007; again I may need reorientation if I am wrong:

Renewal EAD:
If this is a renewal application and you are applying under one of the following categories, a filing fee is not required:
1. (a)(8) Citizen of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, or Palau;
2. (a)(10) Granted Withholding of Deportation;
3. (c )(I ), (c )(4), or (c )(7) Dependent of certain foreign government, international organization, or NATO personnel;
4. (c )(9) or (c )(16) Adjustment applicant who applied after July 30, 2007.

nlhernan, are you 100% positive 2015 comes after 2007, I've seen conflicting information on this.. I'm just joking, you're right this thread has become something else these past few weeks..

Apparently they're on an F visa, I have no idea how those work but I guess it's nothing like coming on a K-1, I'd be panicking if I got that notice though!

The handling of F class visas (student) are handled in a very differnet way than us. We do not have to go through the I-130 process. If I were them I'd be worried; however for us this is true, true, but unrelated...

A very few lucky K-1'ers get the "miracle" interviews. Interviews are at a premium due to the limited number of interviewers; other visa classes require them so that is where the efforts seem to go... Apparently you get one if you didn't give enough info at your consular interview (and still got a K-1) or your marriage is of a questionable nature -- or at least that's how it seems. Many of us know of a some of those lucky ones who've had their GC's for over 6 months as our cases have fermented, overaged and putrified at NBC...

Don't want to be a downer, but from a couple that have been at this nigh on 11 months, the way things are going (and most probably will at least stay as bad), you might regret this statement come about September/October of this year...Even now, without the aid of a GPS tracker, I can tell you our file has a 99.999% chance of being within 100 feet of Latitude : 39.279668 | Longitude : -94.675263.

What I'm saying is it you get a chance for an interview --- take it...We would even at this late date...

Удачи!

Hello! I haven't wrote anything in a long time, but I have been reading constantly all the posts on this page.

Well, I am still waiting too... NOA 4/21, NPIW 7/29. I did some requests on USCIS website: first on 11/12 with no answer within 30 days. A second one on 12/9 with respose on 12/23 - same BS answer like all of you got "lack of staff", lots of cases, is not my fault but I still need to wait for a final response. A 3rd inquiry while I was trying to get to Tier 2 - but this time the request went to my field office as I asked. Response: "On 30JAN15, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-485 to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Your petition/application is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition/application. Your file is not currently located in the Mount Laurel Field Office and we cannot anticipate when that file will be shipped to us. " (wow, that's a surprise...NOT!)

I have contacted the congressman and he sent me the response this week - case is still at NBC, at this point the waiting time is 9-12 months from receipt date. I have 9 months and 21 days today.

So just wait, and wait and wait....

I am working now to renew my EAD/AP exp 05/28, I found this post on a different website and I am thinking to use it. Maybe it will help someone else from here....

*******Hello Folks,

Recently I have successfully renewed my EAD/AP card by applying myself without any attorney help. As a matter of fact its pretty simple and straightforward. Here are detailed process.

NO FEE if u file your I-485 after July 30,2011

Put each set of documents in separate covers and write "I-765 application" or "I-131 application" with name and A# on top and mail them together as single package. If you are applying for your spouse as well, then it would be 4 sets of documents in 4 seperate covers and mail them together in a single fedex package.
Check the address you need to send in the instruction document
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-765instr.pdf
If your I485 receipt number starts with EAC or SRC, then send to: Dallas Lockbox
If your I485 receipt number starts with LIN or WAC, then send to: Phoenix Lockbox

You need to apply 90-120 days before expiry date, preferably 120 days. I applied on Feb 6th 2013, got email as per G-1145 in three business days, receipt notices in 10 business days and finally got the cards on March 12th 2013. To my surprise I got 2 years extension.

Hope it helps!!!

Still waiting on some sort of acknowledgement that Philly has received our RFE response. It's been almost 3 weeks.

I've been patient through the whole K1 process and with AOS up until we got the RFE. I've now become the neurotic person who checks the status once an hour on the hour. I guess if I haven't seen any update by Saturday, I'll get the paperwork for the EAD/AP renewals together and send them off Monday.
