If I should pass away of old age before my case is adjudicated I think the epitaph on my tombstone should be "My Fingerprint Fee Was Received".

If I had a dollar for every time I've read those words I'd be in an entirely different place.

And the rest of us who servive you, still waiting, will place a small stone on your grave, in the jewish tradition, to show that people have visited your grave, If things continue the way they are, you'll have a whole lotta stones (both on your grave and other tombstones of less fortunate NPIW'ers surrounding you).

Anyway Natonstan, how did you get on today buddy? Or should I ask, how did they try and fob you off today? :-)

OMG, just seen this post. HA HA HA HA HA HA!! That is so funny!!!! Love it, actually made me laugh out loud!! Here is a question and it might be somewhere in this novel of what we call a topic. Are there any approvals going on without us actually ringing up and chasing it up? I know Otter got hers, but are there any other people out there who got a waiver letter that didn't wait longer than 6 months or who didn't have an interview? Surely they have to be processing more than just the ones who go for interview?

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

Shell, the short answer to your question is no, not for a while.

If you go back to the first few pages of this thread you will find instances where people have received the NPIW letter in September and their GC in November. However, on the same pages you'll find some people that waited almost a year so it's all very difficult to judge.

As well the individual circumstances of each case affecting processing times, there have also been several initiatives by USCIS that have changed workloads and processes.

http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Outreach/Notes%20from%20Previous%20Engagements/2012/November%202012/NBC-AILA-11-30-12.pdf

August 1, 2012 - NBC stopped shipping interview waiver I-485 applications to the California Service Center (CSC) and began adjudicating those cases. CSC will complete the workload that was pending as of 8/1/12.

This changed at some point to sending the work to local offices:

http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Outreach/Notes%20from%20Previous%20Engagements/QA_AILAMeetingWithNBC20140509.pdf

For the I-485 Interview Waiver, currently, USCIS field offices are working I-485 interview waiver cases. Field offices order the I-485 IW cases from NBC and adjudicate to completion in the field. We do not have a timeline for when NBC will begin adjudicating the I-485 IW cases.

Thanks Derwood and I am also thinking that although they say they are being sorted at field offices, it is not necessarily a local field office. I found a report the other day saying how many outstanding AOS they have and how many they have processed, denied etc but that means nothing if you don't know where your case is actually being processed. I can't even log into my account, despite sending three emails up to now and counting and mentioning it on a short survey that they wanted me to complete about the USCIS website and procedures. It's like give us your views on the site about things that aren't working for you, but we aren't going to take a blind bit of notice of what you are actually saying as we don't talk alien!! ha ha ha

Shell, I'm sure you've tried everything but I've had that 'account locked' message several times before and I've managed to resolve it myself on each occasion.

I just scroll down and hit the 'Forgot Password?' link, change my password, enter my mother's maiden name and hey presto!
