Called USCIS, spoke with tier 2. I told her 6 months from NPIW expired yesterday. She said processing was taking longer than usual. She said she was going to put us on hold and check in a different system. She came back and said she had sent message to immigration official and we should hear something back by the 4th of February and if not to call back. She was hopeful this would expedite our case.

Im gonna try and give them a call tomorrow then since we have the same NPIW date, I'll let you know what happens

Gotta tell you this Tier 2 putting you on hold and then coming back and telling you that progress has or will be made bugs the living bejesus out of me after our apparent failed result after a similar call. I still think they're taking a cigarette or coffee break and then come back and feed us a line. Hope you both have better results. Please keep us informed.

As of January 30, 2015, your request for us to review an administrative error on your case, referral number WKD***********ELP, is currently not assigned for processing.

So this is what tier 2 did on Friday. We will wait for the next 2 days and if nothing comes through by the 4th we will be calling back as instructed.

At least that's something, I'm gonna attempt the same thing you did during my lunch break today so I'll report back, my plan to get through to Tier 2 (Something I've NEVER managed) is to call and say "I was just about to get transferred to a Tier 2 officer and I seemed to have got disconnected, could you put me through?"

I'm hoping my plan works..

So correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like if your case is transferred to a local office it's because you will have an interview.

Just checked USCIS.GOV again, like I usually do 20,000,000 times a day. Now it says the following:

On February 2, 2015, your request for us to review an administrative error on your case, referral number WKD**********ELP, was assigned to an officer for response.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like if your case is transferred to a local office it's because you will have an interview.

All cases selected for a potential interview waiver get transferred to a local office for adjudication. Not the office with jurisdiction for your case but the office (anywhere in the country) that has capacity to process the case. If that office deem that you are in need of an interview they will send the case to your local office. I believe that we've only seen one case like that on this thread so far.

Out of curiosity, is there any evidence (anecdotal/VJ post etc.) of phone calls to USCIS ever leading to any helpful concrete action in "Potential Interview Waiver cases"?

I think the usual service response of 6-12 month anticipated delays should only be counted as waste of paper and not real concrete action. IMO we might just be adding unnecessary work for these USCIS employees, somebody probably has to print those letters and send them, it being a bureaucratic office by nature might have 2-3 different roles of people doing just this.

If I should pass away of old age before my case is adjudicated I think the epitaph on my tombstone should be "My Fingerprint Fee Was Received".

If I had a dollar for every time I've read those words I'd be in an entirely different place.

Anyway Natonstan, how did you get on today buddy? Or should I ask, how did they try and fob you off today? :-)

Hey guys, I am in this club as well. NOA1 - March 18 2014, NPIW - June 27 and still waiting. I filled the request and a respond saying that due to workload they can't give me an estimate when my case can be completed. Filling my EAD this week
