So, as you all know, we received a RFE for a new medical. I sent off the paperwork today. Hopefully a competent IO will look at it soon.

I may have gone overboard with our response, but I'm still livid 12 days later.

The following is my cover letter (edited for names):

To Whom It May Concern:

Enclosed, please find our response to the I-72 Request for Evidence dated January 12, 2015.
Documents include:

- Original I-72 Request for Evidence

- I-693 in sealed envelope from civil surgeon

- Copy of I-693 page 5 given to us by the civil surgeon for our records

- Copy of receipt from civil surgeon in the amount of $200.00

- I-693 instructions, highlighted to show K1 Visa Applicants

- Copy of I-495 instructions, page 4, highlighted to show K1 Visa Applicants

- Copy of original submission of DS-3025

We have consistently filed everything required by USCIS in a timely manner. It is through no fault of our own that B's AOS case took 9 months to reach an immigration office/officer for adjudication.

B had his original medical examination done on November 21, 2013. He entered the United States on January 3, 2014. We were married on February 23, 2014. We filed for his Adjustment of Status and USCIS received it on March 31, 2014.

We received the enclosed RFE on January 12, 2015. B had his second medical exam done on January 19, 2015. We picked up the results on January 26, 2015.

Please review our response and case in a timely manner.

Thank you,

B & D

Hopefully we will receive a positive response before the end of February when we'll have to start the renewal process on his EAD/AP card. Fingers crossed!

And I really hope no one else has to go through the hassle of a new medical like we did.

Finally we received a response to our 2nd inquiry (no respond on the first one filled again after 30 day and got a respond after 15 days) It said that our case is on route to Detroit field office and we should wait 30 days before contacting them again.

We are in LA and our local field office is San Fernando so maybe this finally means they are sending our files out to not so busy field offices.

Lets hope for good news soon to everyone.

We got the letter on July 10th and we filled in march 29

Fantastic! Our case was filed 04/05/14, waiver letter dated 07/10/14 also through the San Fernando Valley office! So hopefully we will be hearing something very soon also. :)

Hello Everyone!

July Filers here and Received my NIPW Nov. 12, 2014 does anybody received a green card with same date as mine :clock:

Welcome. We filed in early August and also have a letter dated November 12th.

I dont know what IRS requires to file income tax ( form 1040 ). I dont have any foreign banks, however I am filling form 1040 by paper and I will send it with a copy of my EAD. What is Substantial Presence Test?

there's a thread on the forums that talks specifically about this. Great information in there too. :)

Finally we received a response to our 2nd inquiry (no respond on the first one filled again after 30 day and got a respond after 15 days) It said that our case is on route to Detroit field office and we should wait 30 days before contacting them again.

Lets hope for good news soon to everyone.

We got the letter on July 10th and we filled in march 29

Our local office is also the SFV. Seems like there's a lot of us on here. They have a huge region; we're up near Santa Barbara.

My step son and wife were done same day. Just step son got his Residence card like 2 months after the infomous potential letter in June 2014. Still waiting on wife to change. Say fingerprint acveptance since March 10 2014

Tony can you elaborate on this? Did EACH of them receive a letter? How old is your stepson? My stepson received a letter on November 12. My husband has never gotten one. We can't get any clear answers anywhere, and don't know what to expect at all. Thank you in advance!

Got an update saying that my case is currently being held at the NBC, pending a field office review. The interview waiver cases are being shipped to the local USCIS field offices for adjudication based on field office capacity and not necessarily office of jurisdiction. At this time the processing time is approximately 9-12 months from the receipt date. Once further action is taken on this case, a notice will be sent to the address of record.

It can take up to 1 year for my GC to process, geez! please don't get any longer.

So I JUST got a response to my Service request I filed January 2nd 2015:

The status of this service request is:

Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. Presently, we anticipate that delay to be approximately 6 months from the date of this notice. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from USCIS by that date, please contact our National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at the number below.

Natonstan that really sucks...man am I sorry...

This does not bode well for any of us. It simply states the obvious: Executive Action has forced USCIS tor reallocate resources to cover the anticipation of a glut of EAD applications and our wait time will get worse...we're all in trouble guys...be prepared to redo all your physical...

Got an update saying that my case is currently being held at the NBC, pending a field office review. The interview waiver cases are being shipped to the local USCIS field offices for adjudication based on field office capacity and not necessarily office of jurisdiction. Anyone here been waiting for more than a year now after NPIW?

As I said abo

"..currently being held at NBC, pending field office review..." And when pray tell will that be? We seen how fast that can be...A case cannot be adjudicated until it gets to field office. Your letter also explains why some couples whose cases accidently snuck out of the back door at NBC have gone to distant field offices...they know these cases will be adjudicated without interviews...That begs the question why it's taking so long,,,And we all know why, those some here find it hard to admit.

Though it now appears you were approve, CONGRATULATIONS!!

Since it's looking like it may be a longer wait than we expected, I am wondering when my husband should apply for another EAD/AP. He received both in early May 2014, should he apply now for them or is it too early?

My EAD/AP card expires in mid may, I'm going to fill out the renewal forms and mail it in next week, since my driver's license expires beginning of April and the Department of Transportation mailed me a reminder that they need an updated documentation from USCIS by April in order to renew my driver's license. I work in the car industry & without my license I can no longer have the right to drive a car, thus No right to work!

He can renew EAD within 120 days before it expires. He should do it as soon as possible.
