Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case

Thanks for the info. Turns out after looking at their Public Engagement website, it appears it would be of no help to us.

As for the Teleconference with the Director of USCIS, it was a waste of time. They only took 3 telephone questions because of phone problems. They did not get to me. The Director made a 15 minute opening statement focusing on H-4 visas (visas for dependents of H-1b work visa holders) which seems to have been a problem and on the recent executive action. The questions answered focused on these two problems. There were two questions regarding LGBT immigration, specifically regarding refuge status from nations that persecute them. There was one question regarding the knowledge and information given by customer service agents...The director says that he will work on it...Otherwise there was nothing about family-based AOS at all...It was a waste of an hour, oh well...what did I expect anyway...

As well as some of the questioners droning on for ages about how wonderful they think the USCIS Director is and others asking three questions rather than just one. It was an informative hour though. It's just a shame that we didn't get chance to ask our questions.

Consider the action I discribed here a couple of days ago. Your case is way out of the processing date of June 4th at your local field office. I can't tell you it will work; I'm not sure it has worked for us yet...

I sent a inquiry 12/03/14 with no response. 01/07/15 I sent an other unquiry and then called NBC and talked to a Tier !. He would not talk to me at first, had to speak to my Husband first, I told him I was the one sponsor, Tier ! told me he still had to speak to my husband. After to speaking to my husband Tier 1 told me he would put in a request but saw that I had sent one that day. The said he could not give me any other information or put in another request and I would have to wait again. I did some research and found out that if you tired to call NBC and did not get a response or any help within 30 days that you can write to csc-ncsc-followup@dhs.gov (which is our local service center) then if you dont get a response from them in 21 days then contact headquarters at SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov. So I did send and email to the first email based on no response from 12/03/14. In the mean time on 01/19/14 my case history shows that they did respond to the second inquiry and have mailed a response to us. I am waiting to see what this has to say before I make anymore moves.

Tier 2 is who told me It was at my local office

Tier 1 would always give me different answers

It's been 9 long month I'm just tired of waiting originally I was told 6 month I met people the same day I summited my application with the same type of case ( family based ) already been approved with a 10yr GC

I agree it is way too long...AOS are considered under different regulations than other family-based AOS...so no permanent CGs for our immigrant spouses...but that does not excuse the drip drip water torture of how they release Waiver Immigrant cases from K-1 visa...

It took almost a year to get the green card. You can see my timeline below for specifics but we filed in January, got the letter in April, 6 months was up in October and I hadn't heard anything so I filed a service request and we finally got the green card in December. My best advice is to watch your dates and if you pass the 6 month mark from the date you got the waiver letter file a service request. I don't think anyone would have even looked at our case if I hadn't done that! There is a thread specifically for the Waiver Letter over in the AOS forum....most people who get that letter are getting their green cards 9-18 months after they get the letter. :clock:

Yes they are service centers but they are not the screeners of, repository for, or distributer of (to local field offices - not service centers) AOS I-485's. The California Service Center stopped administering I-485's 2-3 years ago to save money. I can guess what your response will be...nothing...BUT, please keep us informed because if this is truly a route of inquiry, it will have been worth your time...

Sorry I've not been posting much guys, had a stressful weekend involving our dumb car breaking down.. just read through everything I've missed, that sucks the teleconference was so useless!

Good to have you drive back in your newly fixed car (and newly lighter wallet)...as far as the teleconference is concerned...Oh well...

You know, you are so very right. Showing the faces of a real life couple with a real life problem goes a long way to "help" prompt a congressional staffer to help. It's easier to dismiss a phone call or email. We were going to visit our Reps local office today, but after I got a Tier 2 case worker to help earlier this week, we will delay the visit for 2 weeks...

Hi, everyone,

My case was filed in the end of May 2014, and was received by Nebraska sevice center on May 30th.

I've gotten my biometrics done on June 30th, and received my EAD card around 8/11/2024.

I didn't get PIW letter, and my case status is still saying they received my fingerprint fee and Nebraska center will process my case... Is it possible that I do get the PIW but they didn't send me a letter?

It's been almost 8 months without any update... I don't even know if my case is transferred to NYC or still in Nebraska :(

My attorney placed the inquiry but there's no respond even after 30 days...

I don't know what is going on now and feeling really helpless...

5/07/2014 Got Married! F1 student with OPT

5/30/2014 I485 fingerprint fee received

6/30/2014 Biometrics done

7/30/2014 OPT Expired

8/11/2014 EAD card approved

2/18/2015 Immigration Services Officer told my congresswoman that my case is PIW

2/23/2015 My lawyer said my case is in NYC field office (not sure if it's true)

I received my waiver letters 11 months ago (28th of feb) my I-485s were received by USCIS on the 30th of October 2013.

My greencard arrived in August 2014 (6 months from letter date) but I never received any for my children. I have since contacted USCIS on 2 separate occasions and have been given a written response that basically said... we have no answer for you.

I am going to contact them again on monday as it comes on the second tax year where we can not claim EIC for our four children due to the fact that they can not receive SS numbers.

Anyway. I shall join the long list of waiverwaiters -_-

If your kids have EAD cards, they can get social security cards. That's what we did for my 10 year old K2. They don't have to be working age to get one.
