If I'm reading that right, if you want to renew electronically you have to pay the fee? I know theres no fee to renew your EAD as we're still processing I-485 but from what I can see there we have to renew by mail, since we have to include our NOA1 anyway to waive the fee?

"

  • You pay the Form I-765 filing fee; and,"

Oh, you're totally right!

Ignore the above then. Instead you'd file another I-765 by mail and select "renewal" at the top.

2013 7/15 I-129F sent, 7/18 received Dallas lockbox, 7/22 NOA1, 10/22 NOA2, 11/15 NVC Case Created, 11/20 NVC Shipped, 11/25 Consulate received, 11/28 Packet 3 received/returned, 11/29 Medical, 12/9 Packet 4 received

Well, just got an update on our case...we've apparently gotten an REF I swear if it's for a new medical I'm going to scream. Will let you know what its for when we get the paper.

Grr.

Oh please don't let it be the medical, that won't be good news for any of us still waiting!

Allowing us to renew online would be making life easier for us, you know USCIS don't like making things easy!

On the plus side at least you know that something is now happening with your case. It'll be interesting to see where they want you to send the response.

I had a completely different experience with British Airways. I showed my EAD/AP card at check-in and no questions were asked. At the gate I was asked if I was travelling on a green card or advance parole. I flashed my EAD/AP card and I was allowed to board immediately.

You may wish to print off pages 43 & 44 of this guide:

Lucky you. Thanks for the link. Too bad I didn't have this one with me in July but I'll make sure I'll have those pages printed out for my next trip next month.

Thanks!

Isn't this ridiculous, just as we thought things were looking all clear in terms of the medical, so many people getting updates and their medicals were well over a year out of date, it really does look like its luck of the draw

I'm really hoping we forgot a check mark or a signature some where. I really hope its not a medical. I'll go back through my copy of the paperwork I sent in a few hours when I have more of a clear head.

Regardless of what the missing info is, they've had the file since 3/31/14 and it's taken this long to get the RFE? To me, it makes no sense. But of course this is our lovely government we are speaking about...not much does make sense.

I guess its proof that they literally just threw our papers into a big pile and didn't bother looking at them for a whole year, i'll pray that its not a medical, its making me anxious again because mine expired on Friday

So I just went through my copy of the packet I sent...it looks like I did not send a 2013 tax transcript - I had just filed taxes and sent a full copy of the tax return (with W2s and 1099s) along with the transcripts from the previous years. So in the off chance it's for that, I went ahead and ordered the 2013 tax transcript from the IRS. That looks like the only thing we were "missing". Fingers crossed.

Now to just wait for the letter....

Wow, if your RFE is for that I will be shocked. I received RFE in May of 2014 for that same reason. Maybe it was overlooked when someone reviewed your file last year and caught just now as somesomeone else looked into your file?

Guys, my status has finally changed on Jan 5 to card production and today finally (really.. f-i-n-a-l-l-y!) I received my GC in the mail. :dancing: I still can't believe it took them over a year to approve my case. Anyways, hopefully you all will get your GC soon! It seems like lots of us got approved last week which is great news for everyone who is still waiting! It looks like there is someone in the dark and deep cave of NPIW digging through the cases.

p.s. my medical was done in mid December 2013

I can tell you that I have long regreted spending the money for my Immigration attorney to help us shepherd our AOS case. He was great for the K-1 or maybe we just got lucky with the American Embassy in Tashkent. But he cost us big bucks and he charged us extra for the interview which we are not likely to get (no refund). He has been no extra help dealing with USCIS. He has handled lots of AOS cases, but he has had only one other NPWI. He's as useless as Tier 1, my Rep and my Senators...However, as I read how many have used their K-1/K-3 physical for their AOS, I start thanking my lucky stars that he made us get another physical exam here in the US just before submitting the package. I was surprised toread here in the forum that you could even use the same physical because we were told otherwise. It hopefully means that my wife will get her GC BEFORE it expires in early March and we won't get an RFE for another one...but as slow as things are going, I'm not sure whether they will complete 6/27/14 NPWI letter cases by then...we'll see...

Congratulations!!!! It's about time...Your are the longest holdout that I am familiar with. God only knows why yours took so long...maybe it took a little longer to find your file in the deep dust in that dark cavern...BUT success is sweet...
