Hi all, just to update you we recieved a letter from the immigration that our interview is scheduled for wendnesday 23th october so it was not such a long wait .... Please keep your fingers crossed I am starting to get nervous

And just to add a question, if your online status changed, how long ago was that - or did you just receive the letter in the mail? If I got an interview, I wouldn't know how to prepare all my documents and myself within one single week!

hey guys.. just received the potential waiver letter today. Filed in April and USCIS received it in April 15th.

I don't know which is my local office.. I mean I'm sure it's still in National Benefits Center, but if it was to be processed in a local office, how would I know where that would be? I'm in Northern VA.

Honestly this whole process has been horrible for me... I applied for the K-1 visa at the end of 2011 (yes, 2011) and the visa that was supposed to be issued in 6-7 months took a YEAR... and after I received it & entered US & got married & filed for AOS in April now it looks like I'll be getting the GC in April 2014.

From the end of 2011 to April 2014!!

You know what the worst part is??? My EAD got lost in the mail and I never received it. At that time I didn't re-apply for the EAD since that'd take $400 and 3 further months, during which I figured my GC would be here anyway.

So I haven't been able to work since the end of last year and it looks like I won't be able to work until APril 2014. Good job, USCIS. This process is going to cost me my soul.

I am sorry for your terrible experience with immigration. This whole immigration journey sure is hard on all of us, but you know what? In the past 20 months (since sending the K1 application) I spent so much time worrying and feeling miserable as never before, and it cost me a lot of energy.... But a few days ago I came to the realization that how I am feeling about all of this does not change anything at all. Whether you are worrying or trying to be as positive as possible and enjoying the time with your partner, it won't change anything about the wait, but it will have a big impact on your life.

I would strongly suggest you apply for an EAD. I am not sure whether it is for free or not (renewal is for free with a pending AOS, but I am not sure about lost cards - maybe others can help here?), but it would definitely take your mind off the whole immigration stuff. I personally find it extremely helpful to earn my own money, distract myself, and feel useful.

By the way, the Interview Waiver letter does not mean that you WILL have to wait another six months; it is a form letter and just states that you MAY have to wait another six months. I have seen lots of people on here who got the Waiver letter and got their Green Cards a couple of weeks or even days later.

You can find your local office here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO You just have to type in your ZIP code. You can then look up your local office's processing times here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do and put in a Service Request/get your congressman involved once your local office is beyond your NOA date.

Samething happend to me. my biomatric letter was resend to USCIS it tooj 2months+ did 2service requests but still didint work out, but then somebody here on VJ told to do Infopass nd it helped me alot when i went to infopass they generated me biomatric appointment letter nd next day when i chekd the mail i saw the Bio matric appointment letter from USCIS i was like seriousely??? i knw it sucks but theres nothing we can do, nd also its not even USCIS's fault they are realy busy nd also sometimes our mail system wont work everything goes bak to their first destination...

I wud sugest you to call USCIS nd ask them abt ur EAD since u never recievd ur EAD so i dont think they will be charging for EAD again?

Call them nd talk to the TIER-2.. Good luck

Even though we received the Waiver Letter, an interview was scheduled and now complete. GC was approved (at least verbally) and we were told it should arrive in 7 to 10 days. We shall see.

Congratulations! We received the same potential waiver letter. As far as I know, our case is still at NBC. However, our case is beyond the local service center processing time. 6 more months of waiting or not, I think a service request is in order now as I have patiently waited the first 7.

Yes, I received my card last week. 7.5 months after applying and 2 months after receiving the Interview Waiver letter.

That Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case still exist in 2014. My husband just got his.
