Hello all,

I have been on VJ since we started this process a veryyyy long time ago like all of you.

I fond this forum only today and I am in the same shoes as most of you here.

We filled our AOS in march received an NOA 1 on march 29th.

Got an Interview waiver Dated July 5th saying of course to wait up to 6 months.

After reading most of everyone's posts I am soooooo fed up with this whole process. No one can give you any straight normal answer they are like robots when you call giving you dumb useless information that you can get your self online. Tier 2 also doesn't know much and the worst part about them is that every time you talk to them they give a different answer. It just sounds like that is what they are supposed to say to everyone just to get them off the phones.

What makes this process so frustrating is that it seems like no one cares and that there is nothing that we can do about it.

This is people's life and money just losing someones medicals or waiting till they expire blows my mind away. That is not our fault and yet we need to pay for it.

I wish I could sue them for all this aggression and anxiety this process causes us. I HATE them and can not wait to put this behind us and move on with our life.

Hopefully everyone will get a reply soon :protest::protest::protest:

Yeah it sinks. It's a lot like the IRS; you be never get the same answer twice...

What still interests (or aggregates) me is well illustrated by your situation...Your NOA is 3/29, ours is 4/6. However our PWI date was 6/27 and yours is later. What's up with that? And this is not isolated, it's true all over this thread. It makes no sense...

I can only speculate a reason...maybe it's because they know we're on a fast track to citizenship (3 after GC and not 5 like most others) and so even though we are inconvienced now, in the long run it all comes out in the wash. However, I've heard that the removal of conditions in 2 years is no picnic either...

I have friends coming to get married with travel and student visa. They all get GC within 4 months after applied..so fast. They can apply for citizenship in 3 years as well. What we can do is just wait.......

I'd be willing to bet they got an interview and not a PWI...the people they interview represent the multiple tiers of how they handle I-485's. If they don't trust you or you don't give enough information or anything that red flags you (like getting married on a travel/student visa), you get interviewed and get a fast track to a GC. I've heard the same story...

Yes I did.

The IO was very nice but had to send me to secondary. She told me my husband could also come with me (we're same-sex).

It took no more than 10 minutes, they gave me an I-94 to fill out (weird, I thought they went "digital", but obviously the Port of Miami has not, yet...).

Fun fact: the line off the cruise ship was HUGE (many EU citizens from repositioning cruise). An IO pulled out several who claimed to be US Citizens (including my husband), and when I was sent to secondary by one of his colleague, he made a point of coming into the "secondary" area to tell me what I did was "sneaky". At tha point, I did tell him my husband is a US citizen, and that we are traveling as a "FAMILY". He kept arguing that he didn't like what I did, talked to another senior IO, and not even 10 seconds after that, approached me again to profusely apologize as he did not realize what the situation was. Having an IO apologize to you is close to seeing a flying unicorn (LOL!). I told him "no problem", and I was out in about 10 minutes, NO extra questions about "us", zero, zilch, zip, nada.

I am now "paroled" for a year (I'm assuming less decisions to be made next time I cross the US Border), but TRULY hope I get my GC soon!!! Waaay overdue!

Even though we didn't want it to be, the lack of GC at the 6 month mark after the NPWI letter put a pall over Christmas. My wife's father is ill and her son is taking care of him and losing sleep. 11,000 km is a long distance particularly when you want to go back to visit but the unknown regarding using the Advanced Parole invokes fear of not being allowed to board a plane because an airline agent doesn't understand your travel documents or situation. I know the feeling. 2 years ago I was prevented from boarding a plane in Tokyo to Dehli until 1 minute before the door closed because I had a visa to Bhutan but no boarding pass because of the unusual nature of the government airline and they issue passes only at the point of departure. And I had no visa to India. It was only because I badgered and argued that they let me on the plane. I don't think it will be all that easy in Tashkent if the ticket agent does not understand what an Advanced Parole is.

So all the advice to let life go on and don't worry about the green card is in my opinion empty words. I see the injustices of people getting interviews with quick GC's while we rot and ride the wave of political upheaval. It stinks and I have to tell you it is inhuman. But what else is new...
