Is that 9-12 months from the receipt of the NOA1 for AOS or is it from the receipt of the waiver letter?

It is supposed to be the receipt date by NBC of I-485. NOA is generally several days later. When you call they quote you the day they received it.

I don't think that's the case at all, it's Christmas week now so things were bound to slow down, I'm thinking once the new year rolls around we'll start seeing more approvals

got a job (since I have my EAD) and me and my husband now have our own house, no more renting, had to update my address with them so who knows, maybe that will poke them to remember my case, lol

Still on acceptance, did get a letter from USCIS acknowledging my address change so that's good

Thankfully if they do have me do a new medical, then I only live 45 miles from the capital of my state so surely there's a civil surgeon there xD

Hey Otter~, congratulations of the new job and the new house! I managed to get a part time job as well but clearly I still have too much time to spend here on VJ. I really need to take a break from it!. That is probably going to happen in January when I start a full time job. I'll then have one and a half jobs to juggle. Oh my, that's going to be very different from the many months of sitting around doing ####### all!

I really hope that the vast majority of folks on here get their AOS approval before their medicals expire. However, given the fact that they still seem to be working on February cases I'm starting to think that is more unlikely every day. Time will tell. The wait goes on.

I just put a service request into the USCIS site for the hell of it, not expecting much help but thought I might as well, I noticed it's been assigned to an officer and that the referal number ends with DAL? Does this mean my file has likely been moved to Dallas without me even knowing? I've seen people mentioning this on here that they're sending them out to service centers due to being overloaded

My response came from the New York City field office who, as far as I can tell, don't actually have my file. I think it's assigned by address.

Just wanted to update:

I got a new medical scheduled for January 30th (and the cost is less than I expected ), so I'm sure I can get it sent in before March.

Hopefully most of you get processed before having to re-do the medical.

Ugh, I really don't want to have to redo my medical. I entered the US on the 27th of Jan so I only have a month left to get the GC. It's been nearly 6 months since the IW letter so maybe I'll get it in time, but it's starting to look unlikely. Might put in a service request to give it a bit of a poke.

I was told by Tier 2 that the 3 letters at the end of the service request do not denote the office where the I-485 file is or should be. It denotes your location and the USCIS field office that services your geographic location according to your address. They know that these files are at MSC as mine was, even though the processing time as of 10/30/14 said that my field office was processing I-485's with receipt dates from late April - well past my date). And this is why Senatorial and House inquiries say that the file, when they get around to it, will go to the field office that has the lowest number of cases and can service them the fastest and that cases at MSC are NOT beyond processing dates...again this is why the processing dates for I-485's at field offices mean absolutely nothing because if they did, many of us would have gotten GC a long time ago...

I have been on VJ since we started this process a veryyyy long time ago like all of you.

I fond this forum only today and I am in the same shoes as most of you here.

We filled our AOS in march received an NOA 1 on march 29th.

Got an Interview waiver Dated July 5th saying of course to wait up to 6 months.

After reading most of everyone's posts I am soooooo fed up with this whole process. No one can give you any straight normal answer they are like robots when you call giving you dumb useless information that you can get your self online. Tier 2 also doesn't know much and the worst part about them is that every time you talk to them they give a different answer. It just sounds like that is what they are supposed to say to everyone just to get them off the phones.

What makes this process so frustrating is that it seems like no one cares and that there is nothing that we can do about it.

This is people's life and money just losing someones medicals or waiting till they expire blows my mind away. That is not our fault and yet we need to pay for it.

I wish I could sue them for all this aggression and anxiety this process causes us. I HATE them and can not wait to put this behind us and move on with our life.

I have no answer why most of I 485 from K1 getting penalized to wait so long........ compared to other status entering US while we paid the same fee. What's the reason for long wait?

I can only speculate a reason...maybe it's because they know we're on a fast track to citizenship (3 after GC and not 5 like most others) and so even though we are inconvienced now, in the long run it all comes out in the wash. However, I've heard that the removal of conditions in 2 years is no picnic either...
