Looking at the USCIS site it seems it's not supposed to expire until a year after submitting it to USCIS. So if my original medical isn't supposed to expire until February 2015... It seems they might have lost my original one and that's why I need a new one? It's a pain anyway because there are no civil surgeons in our practice so I have to go through the 'new patient intake' at the one that does and that tends to take a month or two. Which is not helping if this form needs to be in by March 15.

I don't understand your question.

I don't think this is directly related to getting the Interview Waiver, but their massive delays obviously gives them the time to shuffle around paperwork to the point of losing stuff (our case is supposed to be at the National Benefit Center, but the letter said to send the new I-693 to the Oakland Park field office in Florida...we are in Massachusetts so I don't know what is up with that.)

I think the date of submission to USCIS might be the date of POE, as that's when you hand over your initial sealed medical.

I mean that you will submit the medical report before 3/15/2015. My question is if you just mail the medical forms how the medical forms will combine with your case?

Oh yeah, they said to include the RFE letter.

I'm on the phone with USCIS now to get the how and why. If they do take POE date as the 'year from' date for the medical, it would be good to know that because I think more people might be getting that RFE letter then.

I mean, it's probably not that different from mailing in an RFE. They have your full name, A# etc.

According to the officer I just talked to it's because the medical was done in August last year so it expired.

I call bs because at that point a lot more Jan/Feb filers who are still waiting would have expired I-693s at this point. But there is no arguing with them so anyone else still waiting with medicals that are over a year old....be prepared to get one of these I guess.

Make the appointment ASAP! (best before Christmas) Then once the officer received your Medical forms it will be approved. I guess. Good Luck!

I just called a local doctor's office with 3 civil surgeons. Hopefully they get back to me asap and can fit me in somewhere. Hopefully Santa puts some money in my stocking to help pay for this.... I'm just so angry at USCIS. If they actually looked at my paperwork somewhere this summer they could have sent me the RFE months earlier. I saw all the other Feb filers get their cards and was honestly thinking I'd get mine soon. So disappointed.

I've been expecting someone to get an RFE for an expired medical for a while. I did a little bit of research and agree with GiuseppeG that the medical probably expires a year after you initially enter the U.S. That would still put you over 12 months due to USCIS long period of inaction with your case.

I appreciate you sharing your experience with the other members of this unenviable NPIW club though. Forewarned is forearmed.

Almost 5 months now since we submitted our AOS yet nothing heard anything from the USCIS. No interview nor waiver letter. This is frustrating :-/

Got the results of a Senatorial Inquiry yesterday. (Receipt 3/29/14, NOA 4/6/14, PWI 6/27/14) It confirms the reason for the distant USCIS location for AOS adjudication far from an applicants home discribed by BabyFaceWife before their approval in early December. The USCIS wrote this:

"Ms. XXXXX's case has been identified as a possible interview waiver case and is currently being held at the NBC pending field office review. The interview waiver cases are being shipped to the local USCIS field offices for adjudication based on field office capacity and not necessarily office of jurisdiction. A this time the processing time is approximately 9-12 months from receipt date. Once further action is taken on this case notice will be sent to the address of record."

Again, local office processing dates mean nothing for our individual cases...We wait...

Is that 9-12 months from the receipt of the NOA1 for AOS or is it from the receipt of the waiver letter?
