Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case

So far only 2013 applicants seem to have received them. Lucky us.

If I get one now, then I would add 6 more months to the 7 I've been already waiting for. That's one extra year of waiting compared to those who got interviews. Aint life great.

It seem that the potential interview waiver letters only started a couple of months ago. So, you're probably still in line based on when you filed your adjustment of status. Have you found anyone on the threads who filed when you did and are still waiting? Hopefully, yours will come through sometime soon.

I received this letter on Sep. 16 and I sent my application on Apr. 24. One of the other friend in the same state sent the application 2 months earlier (Feb. 24) and she received her green card on Sep. 13 and without a interview. What I can do is just waiting. Hopefully it will be much less than 6 months.

By the way I checked a lot of receipt No. after mine in "my case status" and found some people already received green card and some people were scheduled appointment on Sep. 23. I wonder why I received this letter. I applied for green card before those people.

I just read about two people here on VJ who had applied in June/July and just got their GC approved without interview. Where is the fairness for people like me who have been waiting for more than six months already? mad.gif

Could have something to do with where you are locally? I'm in NYC and we applied on 2/21, still waiting..., but I know some local offices are just not burdened with as many apps, so maybe that's why. As with the entire immigration process there really is no rhyme or reason. Just hang in there ClockWatch2.gif

I think there is this theory that you are more likely to get waived from the interview if your local office is backed up (and yes, my local office seems to be the slowest in the whole freaking nation; they are currently working on January 18, 2013 applications). I am not sure how true this theory is and how much random "luck" plays a role for the interview waiver, but a friend of mine who applied in the end of July and is at the same local office as me has already received note of an interview!

Bottom line is, I have given up to try to understand how USCIS works. I am just going to keep myself busy with work and spending quality time with my husband, and I will see and wait what happens.

FREE?????

It's free if you apply for it with your I-485 form, otherwise you have to pay.

And I'm joining the club: filed March 1, got the letter August 2 :(

One of my friends (VA) got her GC after ~7 month without any letters or interview, another couple (TX) had an interview but she got her GC after 3 months from filing!

AOS

03-01-2013 - AOS package sent

I just got a letter that my GC has been approved and I will receive it within 3 weeks. I guess I am a real person now :) It should give you some hope, it's close. I think that "6 months letter" was just for their protection becuase they had delays. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!

Congratulations Kaaha! So happy for you!

PS: Did your online case status change any, or is it still in "Case Not found"? That would be interesting to know.
