Well it seems USCIS has free time for unimportant things like updating their website to make it more "user friendly". Which is useless if you never update people's cases! Grrrrrr.

It's like you almost want to have a red flag on your case so they would do the interview instead of waiving you.

I feel really really disappointed and upset. The case is so slow like a turtle. I got the waiver letter since July 10 but never heard anything back while it's over processing time at my USCIS office. I checked the approval time line for K1 at my USCIS Boston. Surprisingly! nobody get GC approve in October....

Looks like having interview is much faster. What we can do other than just wait....so sad

we can also see our case, but the new website is annoying as others have said! No updates but they change their website. Dumb!

This is the efficiency of the federal goverment. They can somehow sink an obcene amount of money into something and yet have worse results. Like the website, I wonder how much that cost... Not neccessary at all, especially since now when I go to look up my case number is gives some type of error and tells me to call USCIS. Calling USCIS I hear "All circuits are busy..." Hmmm, I wonder if it has to do anything with this:

Wouldn't be surprised if our cases get shoved even more in the back of the line if any of this amnesty stuff goes through.

The wait would be fairly much irrelevant if the 'resident from date' on the GC was the date of entry or the date of marriage but it's not, its the date they issue the card. That pushes back ROC, citizenship etc etc.

Mr President, here's an idea for your executive order which would free up some USCIS staff to deal with the nine million illegals: automatically authorise all outstanding AOS applications where an interview waiver letter has been sent. If you want to keep those people out of your hair for even longer send them a 10 year GC.

Receiving an interview waiver letter doesn't mean you can be automatically authorized. Someone, somewhere still has to go through your case and make a decision to approve or not.

No, they haven't. It's a potential interview waiver letter. It means that they can likely adjudicate your case without needing to interview you. It doesn't mean your case has already been adjudicated or that background checks are complete, or anything of the sort.

If they had already adjudicated your case there would be no reason to even send an interview waiver letter, as they'd just send you a green card.

I wonder what the selection process for the potential interview waiver letter is then and how they do it? It can't be done just on a country basis as I see lots of Brits going to interview without ever receiving a potential interview waiver letter. I did imagine there would be a clerk sitting there splitting cases into 'waiver' 'no waiver' piles. Maybe the computer does it. If so lets hope that computer system isn't linked to their currently non-functioning website :-)
