My thoughts exactly! Still waiting, we got our letter in April.

My best guess is that interview waiver cases get handled on a "knock-knock" basis, so once you get an interview waiver your case will get looked upon next in the following scenarios,

1. Six month waiting period is over and you call USCIS complaining about it, then somebody looks into your file and if Background checks are complete they move the case forward, if background checks are not complete it goes into another wait cycle.

2. You tell USCIS about change of address or other peculiar scenarios which makes them look into your file and your case gets looked upon, again if Background checks are complete they move the case forward, if background checks are not complete it goes into another wait cycle.

3. Something "negative/eyebrow raising" shows up in your background checks and somebody looks into your file.

Other than this it's hard to explain why interview waiver cases are taking on an avg 4-6 months for a decision, specially when people with interviews are getting (mostly) their interviews and decisions at a much faster rate. Another problem I have noticed with this interview waiver scenario is that for a lot of applicants because of this wait their medical attached with the application would have expired which prompts a RFE for a new medical in some cases adding further to the delay. This in turn adds to both cost ($$ for new medical) and delays.

GC delay doesn't affect life much but i will not be happy if I have to do paperwork for another EAD/AP in 10 months from now.

Anybody has any idea that from what date does USCIS treat you as a permanent resident in cases of these long delays? As far as I understand in regular scenarios you are treated as a PR from sometime in the past (a date before you get approved for your GC). I am asking because that date dictates ROC eligibility and further citizenship eligibility.

From what I know, your date for LPR starts on the date of your Green card. So all of this waiting just puts things off longer. It's beginning to tick me off.

I'm actually going to be changing my address at the start of next month so i'll keep you updated on what happens with that in terms of an update. My medical is set to expire in January so I HOPE it speeds things up, it sucks because none of this is our fault but if it came to it WE would be the ones having to fork out money for another medical, and whatever else needs doing

Well after calling USCIS to complain about the fact that our case hasn't been touched since March when we got the EAD and it's way past normal processing time for our local office I got a letter today in the mail dated 10/27 (conveniently 5 months and 30 days since we received the waiver letter) saying that our case is being requested to be transferred to our local office. Hoping to see some movement soon!

Exactly my thoughts, Bob!

I can work, I can live here, I can travel, but that darn countdown hasn't started yet, and it's been almost a full 8 months since we applied for AOS! It's ridiculous!

F-1 Visa: Academic years 2007/2010.

Green Card: AOS sent Feb 2014; Approved Jan 2015.

I contacted senator's office a week ago asking them to get an update on my case on my behalf. Here's an answer from uscis ".... case has been identified as a possible interview waiver case and is currently being held at the NBC pending a field office review. The interview waiver cases are being shipped to the local USCIS field offices based on field office capacity. At this time the processing time is approximately 9-12 months."

It will be 10 months next week since I filed my docs. I will probably have to file for a new work permit card because the one I have expires in March and I am not sure if I will have GC by then. Does anybody know if applying for a work permit renewal card incurs a fee?

No, as long as your AOS is pending you will not have to pay for a renewal EAD. You can file up to 120 days before your current EAD expires. Make sure to enclose a copy of your AOS NOA. Sorry for your long wait.

It absolutely does. The starting date is the actual date the green card is issued. So, for all of us, it means a longer period of time to ROC and Citizenship.

By changing address, it will not update anything new for us. I requested to expedite due to the fact that my wife's application is past normal processing time compared to her local office's timeframe.

Her local office has responded as "USCIS has reviewed your Service Request. According to USCIS records, your application is still pending. At this time, we anticipate you should receive a notice of action from USCIS within 90 days of this notice".

I guess we have to wait for a magic thing to happen.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Mexico
Timeline

Just called and was passed to tier 2 after a 2 and half hour wait. After all the questions before I can get an update. I had told him that my step son got all his stuff and was not sure why my wife did not receive hers. Ip they were done on the same packet. He said since he was a minor processing takes less time even after the letter of waiver.

Then asked why is my wife Msc stills says acceptance. Since March. He said from what He sees everything is fine and can take another 90 days or less. So technically I have to wait some more. I really felt I got nowhere.
