It is and it seems the USCIS are on a roll this week, doing my happy dance!!! :) Come USCIS you know you can do more, we love you this week, well for now!

Good morning, I won $10 on a scratch card the other day, just had an impulse to get one, but get this one, I got my husband to cash it in because I am always scared they will tell me its null and void as I am not a resident!

Well, I think even Illegals play, win and collect. We live in a high Illegal area.

Yes, the wait has been awhile, which is why I'm so excited. I also, unfortunately, wasn't able to file my AOS right away, which meant slight overstay, and me not wanting to risk travelling. With this, I'll be able to visit my family back home, I haven't seen them in 2 years :)

The good news is, it did say I was getting a 10 year greencard, not the 2 year, which means my wife and I can pretty much have 10 years of normality, and not stressing over the waiting!

Okay guys I'm confused as hell, March 16th I got the CARD PRODUCTION notice, then that night I got the alert to say it had been mailed, NOW I just got another text saying CARD PRODUCTION and my online tracking says 'Card Production ordered' yet down where the SR reviews and stuff are it says it was mailed out the 16th, what the hell?

I'm pretty sure that the first one will be your NOA2 (I797C) paper, second will be the Welcome letter and the last will be the actual card. Did that make sense.? They will come separate.

First I've heard about this, I always thought if you got a 10 year one from AOS you were supposed to let them know it was an error because people have had problems with ROC because they're come to find out they actually aren't on a 10 year GC... now they could have changed the rules because of the backloads and such but I'm not sure what I'd do if my GC comes and it says 10 years

Yes we have! I don't know what is going on there, I can only assume that they filed for AOS very late and with the wait it was over 2 years from the wedding date? I think after 2 years of marriage it automatically becomes a 10 year card, however I am not sure and I also not sure if they need to go for ROC, as then it isn't conditional. I have also seen the USCIS send out 10 year GC's in error, but I think for them to give a 10 year GC they would surely have to interview? I don't know it's very confusing!

I've seen an evolution over time on the thread where the date of our NPIW letter is less important than that you got one and people are rightly focusing on NOA date which is far more important in allowing comparisons. It has always appeared that NPIW letters were batched and sent en masse. It seemed unfair that later NPIW date applicants were getting approved, but when you look at the NOA dates and see the haphazard way they group them, you see why.

This a good change in perspective.

Wow, we had a bit of a hard time but not like that! We have the other side of the country, Vancouver and he lived in Alberta, totally different Province. Luckily my mother -in-law lived over that was because his medical and interview were a week apart and he would have had to fly twice. Too expensive for that type of thing. We had an issue getting an interview. by the time he got all of the packets done (delays) we only had untill Nov 30 to have an interview or the whole thing would expire! We opened the appointment calendar and there was only ONE appointment in NOV. 26th. So took it and worked around that one.

Im glad that it all worked out for you though. :)

Oh wow, you guys had to fly to get your medical done? Glad you were able to get it all done during the same trip-- I can't even imagine! I was blessed enough to have my parents willing to make a trip out of it and drive 6 hours with me while I sat in the back seat going over my files, memorizing dates, trips and other details for the interview. Totally needed the support, I was incredibly nervous.

And I remember freaking out about the NOA2 expiry as well, because our interview was way beyond the expiry date; I called USCIS and they said since Packet 3 & 4 had been received by them, they pretty much disregard the expiry since you've shown that you're serious about your Visa and haven't abandoned the process. I still felt very uncomfortable about it though since every USCIS officer seems to have a different tale to tell

What a process eh?

After 2 years of being married you automatically recieve 10 year GC

And a interview isn't required to recieve a 10 year card

Yeah this is correct if they have been married over two years at the time the AOS is adjudicated, That's why sometimes I think that after such long delays they might as well leave it to the two year mark and save us all the ROC fee!

I've noticed this as well. My NPIW date is July 10th, but other early April filers who filed the same day as me received a July 29th NPIW date. Makes me think they just printed a ton and didn't want to waste paper, and I received one of the last July 10th ones or something. The NOA dates seem more consistent.

Yes.. It was a very trying time for us too. I THOUGHT I did alot of research before we started, nay nay, I had no clue of what it involved. We had to learn as we went and I emailed the embassy many many times. Yes... I emailed them directly! LOL. Im sure they thought. Oh Gawd not HER again!

Also, at the beginning our attorney sent our file to the Montreal embassy! I sent him a long email of how that is not going to work and contact the embassy myself and had it transferred myself.

Yeah this is correct if they have been married over two years at the time the AOS is adjudicated, That's why sometimes I think that after such long delays they might as well leave it to the two year mark and save us all the ROC fee!

Now this is what I don't get I thought ROC is for lifting conditions and to receive your 10 year GC and that this is when the evidence at interview will be required? I am lost!

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(
