I totally relate to your feelings. My father and mother were military. I had an aunt and cousin the military. I'm retired military. It is easy to become jaded by a hostile and inhuman bureacracy. Yes it appears as though we are moving toward a "regulacracy" in the US, especially when you bump up against an agency like USCIS or the IRS. But after this is over (I mean after naturilization, whenever that is) and let the fond memories mellow, things will fall into perspective...and that is that USCIS really, really stinks...

I totally agree!!!!!!

If you look back at all the posts of today, I said this NEEDS to go further! We can go to the Ombudsman and we can get our GC, however it doesn't stop what they are doing right now to everyone and it won't stop when we eventually get to ROC. Enough is enough, action is needed, we can't let this unfairness, this bullying, this #### you attitude, this political motivated and a numerous other things go on.

We NEED to be HEARD and for them to realise we actually have a voice, a life, feelings and the power to one day vote in the USA, as do our spouses and their families. We pay for this service, we pay to sustain their operations, employment. For a Tier 2 person to callously and blatantly fob off one of our friends on this forum as if they stood in dog ####### is inexcusable!

Isn't America after all the land of the free and the place where you can voice your opinion and fight for what you believe in? We can't leave it at this once we get our GC, we need to be the voice of all the other people that will/are going through this!

Thank you for the supportive words. It has not only been USCIS, But DMV, SS office and other government entities. Its appalling how people speak to others.

Yay! I checked my status today and it was saying the same message!!! (dated 3/16/2015) It used to say we received your documents on 3/14/2014.

I didn't check status to see the intermediate steps so I didnt know if this had to do with the green card or not, nor did we get any text messages. This website was poorly done, or maybe I got used to staring at "3/14/2014" for a year. I totally skipped the image above saying "Welcome Notice Was Mailed".

It took us 1 year + 2 days of waiting (since NOA1).

I'm going out drinking.

Congrats!!! Go celebrate!!!

I put one more service request online again on March 12, it went to assigned and then unassigned again. On March 13, it's a bit surprised that USCIS just assigned my old service request to NBC made by Tier 2 since Jan 21 and now responded by mail. Will wait and see even 99% would be just formal statement respond.

I still have a SR that I filed on Feb 25th that says "assigned on March 9th" on the left and "unassigned on March 9th" oh the right. What the heck does that mean. Is it assigned to an officer or not?? Its the same exact SR number. It told me when I field it that I would be a response by March 19th. Hum, thats tomorrow lol

Who ever told them this should be taken out back and shot...You cannot request an interview...Let me restate that, you can request an interview but they won't listen to you. Our lawyer requested one on several occasions and got told to pound sand...

It's bad enough when Tier 1 is ignorant and tells you incorrect info about where your case resides at this momnent.or that Tier 2 can be a pain in the butt and very rude. When they outright lie and say you can request an interview AND say that the Texas Service Center is handling their case when they know all AOS cases are processed through (and incarcerated at) NBC and then shunted to local FO's; that is criminal...The ombusman or HLS Inspector General should hear about this one...

I even had a Tier 2 tell me I was suppose to send in a payment with the EAD renewal. She said I should not have paid with the original but had to pay with the renewal. *rolling eyes* they need a bit more training or "something".

So I just got 3 notifications from USCIS..... all acceptance notifications for my wife's EAD/AP renewal, woohoo... **BEEPING** USCIS send me the notification I've been waiting almost a year for!!!

Yay! It took ours two weeks before we received a text. So your good to go, at least with that for now.

Yes, the wait has been awhile, which is why I'm so excited. I also, unfortunately, wasn't able to file my AOS right away, which meant slight overstay, and me not wanting to risk travelling. With this, I'll be able to visit my family back home, I haven't seen them in 2 years :)

The good news is, it did say I was getting a 10 year greencard, not the 2 year, which means my wife and I can pretty much have 10 years of normality, and not stressing over the waiting!

A 10 year??? Well that's another curve ball they just threw!

Haha, well unfortunately I can't take credit for that masterpiece of a drawing-- though it perfectly expresses how I felt as soon as I read our friend has been waiting on AOS since last January! The thought makes me sick!

As for my K-1 experience, that was its own headache! First off, it took an extra long time to receive our NOA2, because the Vermont Service Center was backed up heavily, so a handful of cases (mine included) got transferred over to the Texas Service Center to lighten the burden. When I finally did receive it, and sent off our other packets etc, we had to deal with scheduling an interview. You would think that Canada, the second largest country on Earth, would have more than 2 consulates for visa processing (Montreal and Vancouver).. pretty crazy if you were to live in one of the prairie provinces or far Eastern provinces where it would make more sense to schedule a flight to get to your interview than to drive there.

So since this was the case, these consulates were booked for many months in advance-- and the one closest to me is known for being notoriously slow. When it was finally time to schedule an interview online (around late september?) the closest interview available was the last week in February, 5 months away. Luckily for me, I worked from home at the time and was able to constantly refresh the appointment calendar website every few minutes to see if anyone cancelled theirs, and eventually I was able to secure a spot on January 21st, 2 days before my birthday. The interview went smooth and my visa was approved on my birthday (best gift I've ever received was from USCIS-- hard to imagine, right?).

I felt bad for the people signing up for their interviews a few weeks after me. Eventually it got to the point where you simply couldn't schedule an interview of any kind, they were entirely booked up and you just had to wait your turn till the Montreal Consulate opened up the site for more appointments. A lot of people were angry because people who applied after them were snatching up interviews before they could.

It was definitely a huge mess, glad that part of it's over haha :P

Wow, we had a bit of a hard time but not like that! We have the other side of the country, Vancouver and he lived in Alberta, totally different Province. Luckily my mother -in-law lived over that was because his medical and interview were a week apart and he would have had to fly twice. Too expensive for that type of thing. We had an issue getting an interview. by the time he got all of the packets done (delays) we only had untill Nov 30 to have an interview or the whole thing would expire! We opened the appointment calendar and there was only ONE appointment in NOV. 26th. So took it and worked around that one.

Im glad that it all worked out for you though. :)

Seems a renewal seems to get them into hyper mode if there is such thing as hyper mode at the USCIS!

OK peeps, it's now afternoon, hopefully they will be sorting out approvals as we speak. Good luck everyone!
