So my local field office is in Cleveland OH. Since they updated the processing times it says they are processing August 7, 2014.

Since I'm in mid July 2014, does that mean I can submit a service request? What is better, submitted one myself or asking my congressman to inquire?

Officially..yes you can file an inquiry now. But it has not been six months since your NPIW. Either way you may not get much of an answer at this point. Most of us have only gotten a response that tells you it is taking longer than the processing times. But, HECK, give it a try. You may have a surprise., who knows! Hope that helps.

Yes do what Shell suggests. As far as your Congressman is concerned that is hit or miss. What I will say next is a matter of opinion, I.e., mine. If that individual has said they support the Senate Immigration Reform bill passed last session, they will be of little help. Your (and our) discomfort helps their cause. If your Congressman is the chairman or ranking member of the Homeland Security subcommittee, maybe they can help. If your rep is a bull dog like Joe Wilson, sic 'em. Otherwise I found mine to be useless and all I hear are talking points that I do not agree with.

Good luck...

Is it normal that my USCIS.gov case status still says: On August 1, 2014, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485... ? And it still only talks about the Nebraska Service Center.

The case history part is empty. Does it say that it's at your local field office for other people?

I got a letter from the NBC about the interview waiver on September 10, 2014. I was just looking and the local field office was processing cases from July 27th on January 31st so I would expect to see some action on mine by now.

Your local field office's processing times are as good as irrelevant, unfortunately, because interview waiver cases are pre-adjudicated at the NBC and then farmed out to whichever field offices have the capacity to take them.

2013 7/15 I-129F sent, 7/18 received Dallas lockbox, 7/22 NOA1, 10/22 NOA2, 11/15 NVC Case Created, 11/20 NVC Shipped, 11/25 Consulate received, 11/28 Packet 3 received/returned, 11/29 Medical, 12/9 Packet 4 received

2014 1/9 Interview - Approved, 1/15 CEAC - Issued, 1/17 Visa in hand, 2/5 POE: LAX, 4/4 Married!, 4/8 AOS/EAD/AP filed, 4/14 NOA1, 5/7 Walk-in biometrics, 5/19 EAD/AP approved (expedited), 5/22 EAD/AP mailed, 5/23 EAD/AP received, 7/29 Interview waiver letter

2015 4/13 AOS approved (no interview), 4/22 Green card received

2017 1/17 I-751 ROC filed (VSC), 1/23 NOA, 2/28 Biometrics

2018 1/31 ROC approved

2020 1/14 N400 filed

Ok, thanks. I filed the "outside of normal processing times request" since it's been over 6 months from NPIW and it greeted me with this:

USCIS will review and process the request.
Expect a reply by April 2, 2015
Hope that means they're too busy approving all our cases :clock:

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Philippines
Timeline

KVE:

I, like you, have the Cleve Field Office also and are coming up on the 6 month annv date of the NPIW letter receipt date. I have NPIW letters for both my K-1 & K-2. That being said, I will wait until end of March to submit the formal request. At least I have hit the 6 month anniversary date and they cannot say to me I am within "normal processing times" when they reply to me. If they reply to me. But by all means give it a try, send a service request, maybe they will mess up at USCIS and approve your AOS. You never know until you try.

I went to do my biometrics today. I was inside for literally 2 minutes, it took longer to get past the giant turkey that was guarding the parking lot than to do my fingerprints. That's not trash talk about useless USCIS employees, it was a literal turkey. I thought about submitting a service request with him, figured he would be just as knowledgeable as the people inside.

So people, let's face it this is pure BS isn't it!?!? As my friend Nlhernan (I class him as my friend) has suggested it's political, it's many other things as well, so how about someone, like myself :) writing a letter to someone with a bit of authority, doesn't matter who they are as long as it's someone high up!

I will get my husband to compose a letter he is very eloquent with his wording and extremely passionate too. What do we have to lose? Absolutely nothing, right? At this stage I personally feel I have nothing to lose, I can't offend anyone with my views, after all isn't this the country of the free?!?!

That's what they'd like you to believe. If they would simply approve cases in a timely manner as is their stated goal, they wouldn't have to answer any SR for out of processing time. Remember there is no quota on family based GC's.
