Timeline

@Christina_W -- you will be fine. We are still waiting for my wife's GC, but with the AP card - we have been able to travel. We have taken two cruises and she just got back from the Philippines. We could not use the AP for online checkin, but at the counter the airlines understood what it was. Back at US Customs, most agents know how to handle it. Once my wife was asked for the letter that came with the card, which she did not have with her. Another agent came over and all was fine. So, do not worry - airlines, cruise lines and customs are all use to AP!

Hi guys!

I'm a March 2014 case, my NPIW date is 6/27/14 and now I'm still waiting for my AOS be approved. :( I did an inquire on line on 3/2, and got a respond from NJ field office today said that they got my case since 2/9/15 and can not give me a completion date and apologize for the delay... It is weird that my location is in MO, why my case is in NJ field office?

And I hope I can get GC in this month because I will travel abroad on April. I heard that people will get some troubles when use EAD and AP combo card to get on airplane when they go back to the USA. Because some airline staffs don't know what is AP! ! :girlwerewolf2xn: Does anyone have experience to use the combo card? What documents should I submit to the airline staffs? If they don't allow me to get on board, what should I do? I really frustrated about these!!! :huh2:

Thank you !

Interview waiver cases can be adjudicated at any office. The reason your case got sent to NJ was because they had more staff or less of a backlog - it could have gone anywhere.

For travel all you need is your EAD/AP combo card and passport. You will probably be sent to secondary inspection when you get back to the US which is fine. Make sure you have sufficient time for any connecting flights.

Arm yourself with pages 1, 2 & 44 from the following document and show it to the airline agent if you have any problems checking in or boarding your flight:

I was just doing my nightly status check on my I-485 and I happened to notice that the 'updated last' date on my EAD renewal was 03/06/2015. Clicked through and sure enough:

On March 6, 2015, we approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

I haven't even been to my biometrics appointment which is this coming Friday! Filing date was 02/12/2015, so it was approved in 22 days.

I also completely neglected to file for AP renewal but I'm now worried my AOS will stretch beyond May, so I may send in this week.

Thank goodness! I hope all EAD/AP renewals come through as quickly as this. At least you now don't have to worry about losing your driving licence and / or job!

Yes I have had experience. I took my AOS noa1, my marriage cert, as my passport is in my maiden name and my card. Only trouble I had was booking in online had to do it at the airport and then register on the machine as a permanent resident. At border control in the USA they knew the card, took me for 2nd processing which took about 5 mins and that was it, other than they told me once I got my GC to use the permanent/citizens queue! Be prepared to receive your GC whilst abroad someone yesterday in Austrailia did just that!

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Timeline

How long has your case been in Lawrence? Has it been there long enough to know where the good restaurants are? Ours has been making the rounds about the Federal Building in NYC since 2/4, though I think in our case it's not our file that's out to lunch...

You and others are showing us that the USCIS is breaking the 1 year barrier with pride...

If they'd concentrate on approving cases and not manufacturing bogus SR's to answer, maybe we wouldn't be waiting the 2 years that twit of a Tier 2 quoted one our fellow posters. .

Hahaha I am sure my case already knows all the restaurants in the area, including the fast food :pop:

I think my case has been there since probably late January-beginning February. And know I got all confused with this ghost SR, things are happening even without my interference there hahahah

My 1 year anniversary is actually coming in 1 week, should I get a cake and candles for that?

This is very weird, you need a new photo and fingerprints (one apparently). Im actually wondering if they have the cards mixed up? I guess only time will tell.

Thank goodness! I hope all EAD/AP renewals come through as quickly as this. At least you now don't have to worry about losing your driving licence and / or job!

What I'm unsure about now is if I still need to attend my biometrics appointment. The appointment notice only references the case number for my EAD renewal, so it seems it may only pertain to that. My initial appointment last year also had a barcode and case number for my AOS.

Maybe I'll call and ask.

Good morning Peeps,

Well another day on the wondrous journey to AOS. This week has been a strange one, weird notes on the USCIS for some, an approval for EAD/AP without fingerprints and photos, post/mail going missing, an approval whilst someone is abroad. Hopefully the weirdest thing that will happen for the rest of the week, will be that someone, one of our "old timers" might receive the yay to a GC. Fingers crossed, may the GC's be in abundance today!!!

Good morning Shell, I was almost sick last night and I was in bed talking to my wife about how worried I am about the EAD renewal going missing because I had sent it the day before the 120 day window and the USPS messed that up, but then at 3AM I got the text to say it had arrived at the Chicago PO Box so its ready to be picked up by USCIS this morning. I hope the week delay won't affect anything as they seem to be doing the EAD's fairly quick. The funny thing is my wife said "You always tell me worrying doesn't help anything so why are you worrying" which is true, I do always say that!

Maybe I'll call and ask.

I could ask my dog for you, if you like? You'd probably get a more reliable answer from him than the USCIS mis-information line :-)

Good morning Natonstan, I have to laugh as my husband says that when I have trouble sleeping, born worrier I am afraid. I find Guiseppe's EAD approval VERY weird, how can they issue a card without the photograph? I am wondering if they are trying to confuse us all. I am wondering if either they are issuing the elusive GC and put the wrong card in, or put an approval into the wrong file or they are simply past caring. It is all very bizarre. Let's hope you don't need the EAD card and just get the green thingy, oh yeah that's right a GC!!!! :)

If they'd concentrate on approving cases and not manufacturing bogus SR's to answer, maybe we wouldn't be waiting the 2 years that twit of a Tier 2 quoted one our fellow posters. .

I read this in my email message alerts last night just before I went to bed, I found myself laughing aloud and my husband asked what was so funny and then said don't tell me it's the visa journey forum again!! Yep, at least we have laughed many times on this forum during the long wait!
