I cannot predict an unpredictable organization...I can say that if all you say is truely correct, you trajectory is rapid...the question is: is it correct? Who did your lawyer speak with? A connection at the NYC field office? Tier 1? Tier 2? We're almost 2 months ahead of you and our case has only confirmed to be in the NYC field office as of 2/4. We can't make a prediction even now as we hit the 11th month mark from NOA1. But in my assessment our decision date is still distant.

'Nother question: You say in the NYC FO and not the Queens office? The only reason I ask is because the processing dates (if you believe them, and I don't) for both offices (by now) are around your NOA. Yes I know a case can go anywhere, but there are offices (like Detroit or Yakima) that have lighter loads. Like I said, our case was only requested by the NYC office recently and we don't expect approval until the end of March at the earliest...

Just curious...

Hi, nlhernan,

I have no idea...I called the other day and talked to a Tier 2, but he said he cannot see any info of where my case is transferred to NYC. So either my lawyer was lying, or the Tier 2 was lying...

In the email from Immigration Services Officer to Congresswoman, it says the PIW case can take 9-12 months. So in this case, and IF I REALLY HAVE PIW FOR MY CASE, I'm still within the normal timeframe. (Because I didn't receive a letter saying that my case is PIW, but ISO said my case is...so I am just very confused.)

I live in Queens but the Queens office shut down due to some problems... So all cases and interviews are now processed in NYC office instead.

I live in Queens too and just found out that their office is closed. Interesting fact is that I received an appointment letter for my Biometrics and the address there was still Queens office. So I guess I should for to NYC office instead?

Ha ha ha, I said beep. Beep is a nickname for the BBC. I hope your wife is getting better, please keep us updated!

And yes one month closer, they don't tend to let it get to the anniversary. I am sure some of you "old timers", will be getting approvals very, very shortly, this week. After all Spring is in the air and that makes everything seem possible!

The latest word was that DHS received one week of stop-gap funding. We'll see what the next few days will bring on the political front. Nevertheless, there may be only limited cause for alarm, as the functions providing AOS/EAD/AP are supposed to be self funding. However, underlying support services may fall under the congressional budget, so I imagine anything can happen.

so you think it would't put off our case .I hope not

It is weird, as they say they normally update them at the middle of the month and nothing has changed, not the December 31st date nor the processing dates for AOS, so either some computer programmer was messing around with something or they update the other areas like the n400 or such. Perhaps, maybe, God am I sick of second guessing with this process.

Hi, Marino4ka,

When you go on infopass, you will see that they say all appointments will be in the Manhattan office. But maybe just double check with them before you go. I went to the Long Island City office for my Biometrics in last August. When you say the Queens office, is it the one in Long Island City? I wonder if there's more in Queens...

You know~ I used to really trust my lawyer... and believed that she'll do her best for my case. But ever since she ignored my request of sending an email to Nebraska Center for my case...and she just told me "this is just how the government works, all you can do is wait." I sort of lost faith in her... She wouldn't even help me write an email... :(

So my husband contacted the congresswoman in our district and she helped us.

I'd rather go to Manhattan office too. Long Island City office isn't bad though.

and Ha, of course a closed field office "won't" affect overall processing =P
