I keep putting mine off, first I have to go for a medical, then I will probably have to redo my eye test at the driving centre, then I have to answer 15 questions, but if you get around 8 right, the test stops and you have passed, then I have to take a test, including parallel parking and that's what I dread in my husbands car, it's way bigger than I am use too, so for now he is my chauffeur, until I decide I want to put myself through it all! I haven't taken a driving test for 25 years and it mortifies me!

Not the one the boys took, but things may have changed since summer and again, the medical was $20 without insurance as they aren't on my husbands its not transferable where they live, but again $20 was in the summer time, prices may have changed since then.

My husband had to do the same thing, start over. He was pretty ticked. lol He has been driving for 35+ years, so he didnt like having to go through this.

The only good thing about it is only having to wait 30 days to take the road test instead of 6+ months (because I'm over 18). I still think it's b.s. though that we have to start over

I had been my Husbands chauffeur also, I didnt want to have to do all of that crazy stuff either LOL. He used to drive limos and he worked for driving safety and taught safe driving, He was pretty upset that that were making him take the practical driving lol

We sent in our third case inquiry request yesterday. I tried to call twice last week but it was such I pain that we just decided to do the inquiry online. Oh well, we will see what happens with this one.

They didnt make him wait 30 days here, but he decided to wait and do more driving around here. Most of the laws are the same in Canada as here but a few different things that he wanted to get used to and the FAST drivers here in California lol.

Funnily enough my husband is an accountant, but he also use to have a night time job when his boys were young as a chauffeur driving limos!!!

He drives to see his son's every two weeks, 4 hours away, so he is the safest driver I know. Just wish his car was a little smaller like my old vauxhall corsa. I should buy one of those cars that automatically park, but I know it wont be allowed! lol,

Just for ***** and giggles I did one yesterday, my first. It said I was still in processing time and asked me to look at my field office processing times. Yeah right. Natonstan sent one and apparently its now with a tier 2, honoured!! Hopefully they might do the same for you, fingers and everything else crossed.

I just left my wife as she walked into surgery to remove a tumor in her head which is stealing her sight and risking her life. The GC seems very insignificant today...

Johan came here from Ireland and he's been driving since the day he set foot on American soil. In California, you can drive on your international driving license. He's since gotten his DL here, but he too was annoyed by the fact that he had to take the driving (road) test again. All went well; no worries. Our insurance said he was covered with his Irish license, and we didn't really worry about it. It took time for him to get used to driving on the right side (spatial and correct ), but like a tourist who comes here and rents a car, it was no big deal. Insurance, when he did finally get his license using his EAD, asked for his Irish driving record. They will go by that for tickets, etc.

For Cal (as someone else said:, no medical exam needed. They test your eyesight then and there.
