Hello, guys.

Any news for those who filed the documents in January? it is so time consuming. I have a question, please help me. I need to go to Ukraine for about 3 months, it's a family emergency, I have AP but still waiting for GC. Is it ok to stay that long in my native country?

Hi TatieM, it depends what the family emergency is. I used my emergency AP to travel to the UK for 12 weeks. I was asked by the IO when I arrived how long I was away for, and when I responded 12 weeks he looked at me - I handed him my emergency AP which had the reasons why I was granted the 'E'AP (death of father) and no further questions asked thereafter.

Edit: Because of the RFE, my case was being processed at the National Benefits Center, not my local field office. Thought that's important to note as you can't get a 'current process time' for the NBC, annoyingly.

Lucy, most of the Interview Waiver cases get processed at the NBC, no matter if there is an RFE or not. Only s minority of cases get sent to the local offices (I assume to help speed up the process and/or to decide whether there will be an interview after all).

it's been just a month since you received your EAD card. i think it's to early to cry wolf. hopefully, your status will change to "interview and testing" soon

Hi all,

This morning we got an update that our card is in production :) woohoo!

Filed in Jan, received waiver letter towards the end of april, so took about 6.5months total and around 3 months from waiver letter. My timeline has been updated.

Good luck to all waiting!

I got waiver notice in Feb and have just received 2 notices by e mail, first one said card production, second one an hour later said decision. So it would appear to be 5 months ish from waiver notice date.

Early days but likely to get your GC within 6 months, and if lucky in couple of weeks.

we got a email the other day saying card has been ordered, then got a notice of decision saying permanent resident status has been recorded. Still waiting on the mailings, oth of the decision (with possible further instructions) and the actual greencard. Here's to hoping it's not a fluke like we had with the fiance visa LOL.
