I'm so frustrated by the process right now. I'm about three weeks out from the six months from the NPIW date of 10th September 2014 and I have held off from doing anything - filing service requests, contacting the ombudsman or congressman - I had hoped at least to see some progress on the application.

I can't even see my I-485 application online as it's in the National Benefits Centre (MSC) and the website can't find the application. If it wasn't for the NPIW I received I would be wondering had my application disappeared into a black hole in the basement!

I will be filing a service request on March 10th. My NOA1 was June 3, 2014.

What worries me is that my EAD is only good through August 10th 2015. If it is not resolved I will have to:

(1) Apply for an EAD/AP combo card (don't have AP currently) on April 10th 2014

(2) Renew my Driving License once replacement card is received (have to do this anyway)

(3) Do a replacement I-9 for work.

It's really really disheartening to see this take so long. And while I'm happy for anyone who got the green card, given the cost of the K1 and AOS fees I do feel like I am being penalised simply because I jumped through the hoops and provided everything they asked for first time. I even got a local USCIS approved doctor to re-do the vaccination supplement before I sent the AOS and included it in the packet.

Rant over...

I guess I'm just feeling a little twitchy today.

We all feel the same way as you do right now. Hey, you never know, we've already seen a Sept filer get approved with a NPIW. I think we were all sick to our stomachs that day since some of us have been waiting for almost a year, but we were definitely happy for the Green Card recipient. This has become a venting forum for all of us.

Always glad to hear from someone with links to the home country. I'm a Kilkenny man myself... so Nebraska is a bit different!

We all feel the same way as you do right now. Hey, you never know, we've already seen a Sept filer get approved with a NPIW. I think we were all sick to our stomachs that day since some of us have been waiting for almost a year, but we were definitely happy for the Green Card recipient. This has become a venting forum for all of us.

Well, not surprising really. I've been avoiding posting for a while for that exact reason. Everything else has been taken care of, work, insurance, and my wife and I hope to buy our first home this year. But until the card is in my hand... just holding my breath waiting I guess.

It's the uncertainty and the fact I don't want to travel back to Ireland until I have the Green Card that makes it harder. Yes I could do it on an AP but I just feel more secure doing it with a Green card as I know there have been issues reported by other people.

The fact that there's the whole DHS budget issue in Congress right now, which is also worrying to say the least.

Anyways, let's see what happens. Hopefully they will start tearing through the backlog and get us all approved soonest.

Westmeath man here, and I''m hoping to go back home to Ireland in November (Like yourself only if the GC card comes) My wife has never been outside of the US so I'm excited to see how she reacts to rural Westmeath

My husband also came from Ireland via the K1. (we have the SA flag because he's originally from Pretoria) We have booked a trip to Dublin for July. We'll be there to drop off his son to visit with his mother for 2 weeks while we're traveling on the mainland. Based on things we've read on this site, we have no worries (or at least limited worries, as it'll be right at one year since NOA1 when we're traveling, and the "what if the GC card is approved while we're abroad" question has come up). He's less excited to travel than I am, as he wants to see the USA! lol But it'll be fun.

Your comment and the comments about the Irish flag make me wonder... Are we screwed over with the NPIW letter because we're immigrating from solely non-fraud countries? I don't remember seeing anyone on this thread from Pakistan, Dominican Republic, Tunisia, etc (I haven't looked that far back, but it seems like most are from the UK, Mexico, Ireland, etc). We're absent of people who'd possibly be in AP for months and months while doing the K1 process. Just a thought.

Long time lurker here. We were in AP for almost 6 months (pretty standard for Morocco) and we also received the NPIW letter.
