You are correct, the confusing nature of what's what is what. When I call USCIS Tier 1, we are constantly told our Receipt date was 3/25, the check was cashed on 3/28, the NOA is 4/3. Which which is which? I guess it depends on whose who you're talking to.

It was not until Wednesday when we finally knew our case was in the NYC office as of 2/4/15. All communication with USCIS Tier 2 before that informed us it was at NBC (to us seemingly in apparent perpetuity), even though all SR and General Inquiries had NYC as its suffix. You won't know until you ask...CALL THEM...again tell them you want to make an InfoPass appointment but you first want to know where it is to determine whether it's worth your time...That's how we finally found out on Wed. Your case may be in the Valley being processed by former "Valley Girls" or it may still be guarded by "hay seed-eatin' hicks" in cattle country. You won't know until you ask. As one of my mentors use to say (until I got sick of hearing it), "You can guess, or you can know..."

Just for thrills yesterday I looked at the first posts on this very, very, very, very ,very ........ long thread! It seems the people who first started it, received their GC on an average of 10 months, so I am sure that you guys are nearing the very end of this arduous journey. I am thinking once we hear about one approval the rest are soon to come and I can't wait to hear that news and for everyone to share as much information as possible for people like myself who still have a few months ahead of us!

Wow Ombudsman that is interesting, hopefully that might open up an enquiry regarding the delays? Perhaps, maybe. I honestly don't think I have read about the Ombudsman getting involved before, so should be more than interesting. Thanks for the heads up!

Ombudsman is the last thing I can request and they told me that if they can help, then they will contact USCIS. Otherwise, they will say No.

Just over 3 months after we applied for AOS we received a letter of a possible interview waiver case and delay of our case of up to 6 months. After the 6 month period had passed and we had not heard anything we contacted the USCIS CSC and they "pinged" the service center that had our case. A month passed and we still did not hear anything. We contacted the CSC again and got no useful information. We finally made an infopass appointment with our local office and they informed us that the case had been moved to an office with availability to take another look at it to verify if we needed an interview or not. Two days later after we checked the website we saw the status updated that the green card was being produced!

Yeah thats the thing, we would have to travel 2 hours to get one and my husband would have to take time off work, but if I was waiting as long as most people on this thread have and seeing what happened to the person above I would probably go for one!

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Philippines
Timeline

I'm been following this thread for a while trying to see how fast other NPIW cases have been getting approved since next month it will be a year since we applied. Fortunately, I just received a text this morning, and when I checked our case status, it said "Card in Production"...super happy right now!! ...especially since we hadn't filed for renewal of hubby's EAD/AP and it expires in May, so I was stressing out about both the GC and renewal :)

We sent our papers on March 7, 2014.

NOA1 - March 13

NPIW dated June 27

Good luck to everyone still waiting! :)

It is my understanding that once a case reaches a local field office, it is touched by a real human being (though after this period of inhumanity, I'm not so sure that is true). It is one step closer to approval. We have been led to believe by one posters conversation with Tier 2, adjudication really means adjudication, i.e., that a judge must sign off on all cases, much like a judge must sign off on all Social Security Disability decisions. Those judges work on limiited schedules. So just because you're one step closer to someone pushing the Welcome to America button, doesn't mean that will be tomorrow. Welcome to another pile...look back at the field office statistics (because when you case gets there they then apply), they are busy and flooded...

Whoop, whoop, whoop! Congrats!! I notice you live in Texas. Hope for you Natonstan. Certainly seems they are going through the March filers, but the whole year is up. Fantastic news!!

I reckon you're going to hear within the next week! Your's is now at the office and from the statistics for that office you should hear today or next week. I am really, really hopeful for you now! And yes will it be an anti climax, I often wonder that?

Yes that's GREAT news, I figure March-April will be when most of us get our cards now, I'll still be sending off my EAD renewal at the start of march as a 'safety net'

Congratulation! Another filer in March. It's not far for us!

I just curious. Last two weeks approvers are almost filer on 3/31/2014. These two weeks approvers are almost filer 3/15/2014 or before. I want to get a clue how USCIS process our cases. It depends on filer's field office or what?
