News Flash!! An escaped NPIW case from NBC in Lee's Summit is suspected in the hostage situation at the USCIS Field office at Broadway and Worth St in Manhattan that has been ongoing since Feb. 4th...Hostage negotiators are tight lipped, though inside officers reveal that this rogue case says it will not surrender until "it sees the green..."

Well it took long enough, 16 days after Tier 2 said it would be requested by the NYC field office, 13 days after a General Inquiry from that office said that our case is "...under active examination...", it arrived in the NYC office on the 4th of Feb. That is the news that we got from Tier 2 this evening. That's the first movement since the "...Finger Print Fee was Accepted..." on 4/3/14. I wish I can tell you that this means anything for the near future, but we are more hopeful this evening than we were this afternoon. I'd rather it rot in NYC, at least I might be able to smell it on a southern breeze...

It's amazing how much digging a NPIW case can do in 10 months with plastic foons (or sporks) and toothpicks from its jailers discarded takeout dinners. I'm proud of our case... No mo' MO, or at least until ROC. I never liked KC anyway...

Timeline

I submitted a Service Request on January 14th, got the SR# ending in CLT (Charlotte). I called on like February 11th and was told that I had to wait three more days before they could tell me anything (Yeah, because they'll know something by then, right??). It's now the 19th, I never received a response to my service request and when I call it's the same song and dance where they tell me absolutely nothing. The lack of accountability just kills me! These are government workers, supposedly working for the people yet they are rude, belligerent and unsympathetic to the fact that we've been waiting almost a year with absolutely no clear answers. UGH!

I prepared all of the EAD/AP renewal stuff and sending it out tomorrow. Hoping it will be one of those situations where you light a cigarette and the bus comes or you go the bathroom and your food comes....Mail off EAD renewal and your GC comes!

NOA is 4/4/14 and NPIW is 7/10/14.

Strange reference number I can't see any field office with a number like that Perhaps some one can enlighten me seeing as I don't get any correspondence so I don't know where the reference number for the case would be, at the end or beginning? You know something if they assign an officer wouldnt it just be easy for them to take a quick look at it and approve it, rather than look at it and then let it collect dust and pile up with the backlog?

Here's hoping I had to do a service request for my EAD card as that was late (no surprise there) from what I recall though it was longer than 3 days, so I am assuming the same applies to any service request I think it was 2 weeks to answer one, might even have been longer. Dont be disheartened though there have been a few approvals with March and April filers, even June filers, so your time is VERY near!

That would be logical Shell, USCIS seem to be in some messed up mentality where they know they are backlogged but instead of pushing things out they'd rather pay extra close attention and send out RFE's so the backlog can become even bigger, no sense in any of this but I've given up trying to contemplate what's happening

Shell, you can see a reference number only when you login to your profile and submit a request. It would say something like this

"On February 19, 2015, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SR10491501407QNS, was assigned to an officer for response"

It's not my case number but I guess just a request number and since I live in Queens, I'm assuming this is my local office.

Der I thought you said ONS, didnt realise it was QNS. Thats good news, it normally means that is where your case is right now As I know I keep saying this but PLATO did an info pass and although his field office should be pittsburgh, service requests and such kept referring to FL and that was confirmed where his case actually was. So at least you're not at NBC, gathering dust!!

I guess since my SR ends in DAL I should finally admit that it's likely in Dallas, my local office, I hope that doesn't mean i'll end up with an interview after all this time like some people, I pray that's not the case because I'd feel like all this wait was for nothing!
