Is that your local office? I guess you can look up the field office statistics and that may help determine if the supervisor your lawyer spoke to was accurate, but I think they are, I doubt they want them festering for over a year, although you never know! Excited for you!!

Don't want to be a pessimist here, but I'd say your letter from USCIS won't be there yet, based on previous approvals it might be a lit early for you. Maybe in a few weeks :)

It's all about compromise. I lived in Mexico for a good part of my then 10 year relationship with my now wife. In my case though I did it because I really didn't have much of a choice. As a same sex couple I couln't do anything at that time but live in Mexico if I wanted to be with her. As soon as DOMA was struck down, I submitted everything for the K1 visa. The K1 visa was my only choice being same sex. I don't think I would consider living in Mexico ever again. As an American Citizen, living in an entirely different country was horrible. I have always been proud to be an American Citizen and will continue to be until the day I cease to exist. I am highly disappointed in USCIS, and this whole waiting game and hold them responsible for the way it has made a lot of people going through the immigration process on this site and elsewhere have a negative perspective of this great country. I have the outmost respect for all of you, including my wife, for having the courage and patience in dealing with this process. I can only pray with all of you that this waiting game will soon end and you will all have your green cards in hand and soon become US Citizens and share they same pride that I feel being an American Citizen.

I respect everything you have been through. I agree I'm happy to be an American Citizen even though the government dosen't act appropriately at times, A bit frustrating. Good luck to you guys, looking forward to seeing those GC's!!

Actually from what I read from others on here it probably does mean it's at your local office. If you look at Plato's post from Feb 13th his local field office is Pittsburgh like mine, but his reference number ascertained to Florida and the officer he saw regarding an info pass he had made, confirmed that his case was indeed in Fl. Once you know where it is, you can then look at the processing times for that field office, its not ideal but its a start to give you an idea of time schedules.

This is the thing do you actually believe they sent anything out? Only asking as when I actually DID make a service request ( I know you didnt with this). I received an email, but I didn't receive any physical post. If however there is then I believe it will be there today. What it will say I can only imagine, because I don't understand why they cant just say it via email on on the website!

I just checked, it says Queens office is currently processing AOS cases for May 6, 2014. But the fact that it's in the local office sounds positive enough :)

So technically they are out of processing time with your case and you can raise an enquiry regarding it!
