Interesting article, make of it what you want, but at least an immigration officer, gives us an insight into why we have delays, rather than us second guessing! Oh and this has been posted on visajourney as a hot topic of the day, where I found the link!

WOW! I definitely feel grateful to have my wife with me because of the K1 visa. This just goes to show how unbelieveably unfair this is for people that are doing things right.

Interesting article, make of it what you want, but at least an immigration officer, gives us an insight into why we have delays, rather than us second guessing! Oh and this has been posted on visajourney as a hot topic of the day, where I found the link!

So the Grey Lady has confirmed what we've been saying and lamenting here for a long time, i.e., political agendas are driving our lengthen delays. Hmmm..., you say nlhernan you don't know what you're talking about, you are making unsupported suppositions. Well for the nay sayers, give us an alternative reason for this quote from this article (the NYT being no great bastion of conservative thought):

"An immigration service center near Kansas City assigned to handle both the green card applications and many of the deferrals was rapidly overwhelmed, officials said. But although the agency is financed by fees and does not depend on congressional appropriations, no new employees were brought on at that center, because of “unanticipated hiring difficulties,” officials said, without elaborating."

Whether or not you agree with the Presidents action in 2012 in support of the "dreamers", it make no difference because you have to answer this: with all the increased revenues to the USCIS from fees from this influx of new applicants, where is this money going if not to hiring new officers with approval power? Maybe it's going to hiring new Tier 1 represenatives to answer the increasing number of irate calls. Or to the bonuses to executives because as you can see with their wonderful looking data and processing dates, God knows they deserve a financial pat on the back. But maybe even more likely, it's being held to fund the flood of fee waivers they anticipate for the EAD applicants and to hire the dedicated agents needed to process these applications starting on Feb 18th (unless a court decision in Federal Court in Brownsville TX stops it). This is a question that went unasked of Director Rodriquez at the recent teleconference, though one of his lieutenants mentioned these fee waivers offhandedly. So we wait because of inaction by officials at USCIS to react to the changes in numbers. And we will wait longer. But why:

I think the evidence is it is political, and if you read between the lines of this article you would have to agree. Some are telling us to blame it on the "broken immigration system" (as my Representative's flunky immigration staffer spoughts to us every time we call) and on the inaction on the Immigration Reform bill that cleared the Senate in the last session (and now is in fact dead, because it would have to be repassed in this session) but saw no action in the House. They believe we'll get so angry we will scream at our legislators to do something, and in their minds it is to pass their idea of immigration reform. If you believe this would have made our situation shorter, you're deluded.

Hmmm...“unanticipated hiring difficulties”...so who's telling them not to hire people to deal with the backlog, cuz that is what that means...Inquiring minds want to know...

I find it interesting what Christopher S Bentley a spokesman from the citzenship and immigration services says, is that not an admission that the DACA might have an impact on outstanding cases or am I misreading it?

We're going to see a lot more news articles like this up until and after Feb 18th. They want people to know or make people belive that these initiatives are creating problems for US Citizens.

If you've looked at the calender lately (and that question is retorical, not specifically to you), it already has. This has been anticipated for years and decisions within the USCIS have been made with this understanding. It is an agency of the Executive Branch and whether its revenues are from taxes or fees, it is beholden to its policy agendas...

FINALLY! The dirty little secret regarding DACA has come to light! How honest, law abiding U.S. Citizens have been thrown under the bus by this administration in it's attempt to gain political votes for the Democratic party! Hopefully, this will make some changes in the system, but I doubt it. It doesn't pay to follow the law. Right Mr. President?

So we got to the field office. Very friendly lady requested infopass printout and my DL license. She admitted there was a backlog and k1 aos cases have been sent out to other Uscis field offices for adjudication. turns out my case is at the West Palm beach field office, just as the letter i got for my service inquiry had indicated.

K1 AOS are sent to your local field office if an interview is required or, you get registered as a permanent resident if your case is approved at the remote field office it . she said.

My wife's EAD expires 06.16.15 when should we start thinking about renewing it? Is it three month before expiration? we sent everything in a large envelope for AOS but that was a huge stack of documents...

Great info. Your case is proceeding well and as you expected you will not be interviewed. All good news. It again reverifies the apparent fact that they work by NOA1 and not NPIW letter date. This is why it appears that approved cases jump from one NPIW date to another and then back.

You should be hearing soon...thanks again for your efforts...

Your info here plus your case status call saying it is at the Lee Summit you mentioned in a prior post means this recorded info when you call USCIS is not useful as to case location. I would bet if you called again it would still say Lee's Summit though you now know for certain otherwise...
