Anyone having a problem in getting the SSN with a married name in INDIANA?

No help for the Indiana side.. We just applied in Ohio under her maiden name (even though we were already married). We will go back and deal with changing the name later, the important part was getting the card quickly as possible so we didn't even bother trying to get it in her married name.

Reapply in maiden name, don't say anything about being married.

Wish I could help. But I'm in MIssouri and I didn't have any problems applying for an SSN with my married name.

  • 12-11-2012 to 12-18-2012 - Second visit
  • 05-08-2013 - NOA2
  • 06-13-2013 to 06-14-2013 - Two-day medical exam; passed!
  • 07-19-2013 - He visits again to be with me for the interview
  • 07-22-2013 - Interview date / APPROVED!
  • 08-01-2013 - Seattle POE
  • 08-02-2013 - Arrived in MO.
  • 09-01-2013 - Married!

I'm pretty sure you'll get one. Just bring with you all the documents they want like birth certificate, the SS-5 form, passport with visa, and the I-94. :)
