My fiancee received her P3 and is asking me questions about it. I thought it required a lot more information than she's listing.

She's saying the packet only asks for:

A copy of her passport

2 passport size photos

a DS-230 form

I was under the impression that financial information, criminal records and all sorts of stuff were needed for the P3. Is she missing something in the instructions, or am I getting ahead of myself?

ETA: Also, she said the packet included a copy of an I-129f form. Why would it include that if our I-129f has already been approved by US-CIS?

No problema. Sometimes it is hard to discern what the folks in Guangzhou have off-loaded to Stanley and what they keep control on.

Your input/review about the new consulate location, nearby hotels, etc. would certainly be appreciated by other China-ralated VJers.

Good luck.

That is all you submit for the P3, for the interview you have to take a lot more:

Who/what is Stanley? I've seen a number of references to it on this forum, but haven't been able to discern what everyone is talking about.

I'm back in the US now, so my fiancee will be going to the consulate on her own, but I'll remember to ask her thoughts on the consulate and where she stays. Granted, she'll probably be staying at a hostel or budget hotel, so I don't think many people will be interested in that info.

This was the same P3 that my Fiancee received this past June, but I believe it's changed to not include the Consulate's address since everything that I've seen posted in the last couple of months goes through CGI Stanley first.

Shame, really. CGIS delays the process by from what I can tell is around 2 months. P3 to P4 for us was less than 3 weeks.

I really hope they get their act together and get their backlog sorted out.

The fact that my fiancee had to wait over 4 weeks to get her passport back really makes the consulate and the US in general look like we don't know what we're doing when they told us 2 weeks after the interview.

That is all you submit for the P3, for the interview you have to take a lot more:

Due to the enormous amount of complaints the consulate received about the CGI mess, the documents are being sent directly to the embassy again, skipping the process of dropping off at the CITIC bank branches.

By the time I mentioned to my fiancee that she needed to include the P3 letter from the consulate, she had already mailed the documents. Will Guangzhou be able to file them properly, or should I have to print/copy a new set of documents to send with the letter?

Considering how the appointment booking process is basically a lottery, this doesn't surprise me at all!
