By the way, I'm not familiar with how the process is if you are filing overseas. You can read a lot about it here though:

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=731ad4d176d1e110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=68439c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

You can call them to clarify. Deciphering government forms absolutely kills my brain cells.

You could try direct consular filing , will take so much less process time. No one is gonna expedite our case just because you are activ duty unless upcoming deployment. good luck

My husband will PCS back to CONUS in a few months but no orders yet. Hence, this immigration visa application... for ours... We put "To be determined pending military orders" on the US address where we intend to live. We had no issues with the I-130 (ours is CR1) and got out our notifications fairly quickly. By the way, we're also here in Japan.

What I would advise you though is to put your physical address in the US if you have one. We didn't put it for ours because his childhood/pre-military home doesn't exist anymore. Most of his immediate family members are also military and all based allover the US so, we can't really put their address.

Good luck! :)

this is a good suggestion if you have lived in japan for 6 months. would save you loads of time waiting for k1 visa. however, dcf is only good for marriage based visa's so you guys would need to decide if you wanna get married now and do the DCF route or keep going with k1.

In case you're curious about DCF, here you go:

Good luck!

They don't do DCF in Japan anymore. Stopped in 2011. We could have gone that route if it was remotely possible.

Sorry everyone, I've been on duty(stuck at work for 24hrs.)! I appreciate everyone's concern and suggestions. We've looked into a lot over the past few days, but I'm very happy to say that tomorrow we're going to mail it off from the post office on base!
