Passport received. Embassy emailed to return passport back ASAP to finalize CR1 case.

Hi,

I was put in AP after interview in May 2013. Recently, I need to travel abroad and requested the Islamabad embassy for the return of passport.

Two days after receiving the passport, I got an email from embassy stating "to submit my passport ASAP so as to finalize my case"

I just want to know, is this email an standard operating procedure and sent to ALL who requests their passport back in AP?

I'll be greatful if someone who has requested their passport can answer. Thanks

Hi, I believe this is standard. They also sent me a letter back in may to submit passport ASAP and I did. But case still under AP.

You never know though. you should send it back if possible.

IMO, return it after you have completed your urgent trip outside of the country.

Passport returned immediately and after 2 weeks. CEAC Status changed to "ISSUED" today. !!!

Interview was in July, 2013

Total Duration in AP = 2 Months

CR1 Visa

Beneficiary is a Male

Has there been any instances where status changed from issued to AP or ready. Because mine status never went to AP, it remained READY for 2 months and then ISSUED.

hey - that's some great news.

suggest you ask your USCitizen petitioner to call into DoS Hotline, when they are open, and confirm the status.

Why? CEAC is wonky on some things.
