RFE Response Review Status since November 8. No one worked at USCIS yesterday in observance of Veterans Day.. Hopefully I'll hear something from them this week. The RFE was for an Employment Verification letter and Pay Stubs.

This whole process is just exceedingly frustrating. It's putting immense emotional and financial strain on our relationship. How freaking hard can it be to look through a bunch of paystubs and read a 2-paragraph letter. It's incredible what they expect you to put up with. It's the not having a timeline that's killing me. If I knew that it'd be all set and done on date xyz but the waking up hopeful every morning and going to sleep disappointend at night is becoming unbearable.

EAD and AP still haven't come through. I like to keep busy and this state of idleness is aweful for me. What's worse, my grandfather passed a week and a half ago and his funeral was today.. So I tried to get AP approved in order to attend his funeral and I called "USCIS Customer Service" over and over but you're dealing with a bunch of idiot robot humans that just read your current status back to you over and over and over even though you're looking right at it in your Case Portfolio. Utterly useless, everything is on hold until they've received and reviewed the response.

I volunteer three time a week but I'd like to start making money again soon. Our rent is almost $2000/month and I will have used up all my savings by January.

Sorry to hear that. Are you past 90 days since you filled? Start looking for jobs now (it takes a lot of time and energy unless your proffesion/skills are in demand) and if you get one you could make an infopass with your local office (which is what you should do when trying to get emergency AP) and they can expedite your EAD based on the job offer but I'm positive you'll get your EAD by then! Good luck!

No, not even close to the 90 day mark. I don't mean to come across as whiny/demanding/entitled. I'm just upset that I'm missing the funeral and USCIS is just this big bureaucratic apparatus that we have to deal with and the arbitrariness. Some lucky filers get approved within a few weeks, others are unlucky and it drags on and on and on. And there's no way of knowing whether your case will be over tomorrow or will take another couple of weeks/months.
