Hello Everyone! My K-1 Visa was approved by USCIS on Wednesday August 21, 2013. Approximately by when should the National Visa Center receive it? Your answers will be greatly appreciated!

To be honest I have no idea when case arrived the NVC I can only tell you it left on Aug 23. The last time USCIS sent me something was on Aug 13 to tell me they have sent my paperwork to NVC even though we got the approval on July 23.

I don't know when my package arrived the consulate ar Ciudad Juarez but I know it left on Aug 30, so far I'm still waiting for that letter.

Keep calling them, I'm right now trying to get the Invoice ID number as I only got the NVC case number, and I can't get an appointment lacking the Invoice ID number.

To be precise, USCIS approved your I-129F petition. The visa application occurs at the consulate.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank You so much for answering!smile.png I hadn't gotten anything from USCIS since August 21 when I got the update on my phone and looked online to see that my visa was approved. This morning when I woke up I had another notice from USCIS on my phone saying that my case had been updated. I looked online and it said "On September 5, 2013 we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly." Since you have been thru this already, I would like to ask you a few questions. Does this mean that just yesterday my petition was sent to the National Visa Center? And also, once they receive it, what information do I need to ask from them and for what purpose? I'm sorry but I'm very confused. Your answers and your help will be so greatly appreciated!!!heart.gif Thank You very much in advance!dancin5hr.gif

yeah are all there in "what should I do next? stage" so don't worry.

anyway like I said on Aug 13 I got the mail you got yesterday saying they have shipped your package, like I also to said I don't have any idea when it arrived to the NVC so my bet is that you should start calling next Thursday/Friday, to get hear this please because this cause me some problems, you need to ask for BOTH the NVC CASE NUMBER and the INVOICE ID NUMBER, even though Cd Juarez website says that you can write your date of birth in the form YYYYMMDD, that's so not true, till yesterday I kept trying and obviously the information didn't match, you need the Invoice number, they will also give you the beneficiary ID number -which I still haven't needed-

Now why do you need BOTH info, because you can fill the DS260 and schedule your appointment without said information you are not going to be able to do it.

Now on better notes this is the NVC number, from Mexico you call 001 603 334 0700, they are open from 7 am to 12 pm Eastern time, that means one hr ahead of Mexico City, my advice is call either late or way too early, today I called at my 6 am their 8 am and after 2 minutes of being on hold, my call went through and got the INVOICE NUMBER that I should have gotten when they gave me my NVC number.

hope I have helped like so many people have helped me here.

BTW when filling your DS260 they will ask your relationship with the petitioner click on spouse as they do not have fiance as an option

BTW I forgot to add that when you call the NVC you need to give them your EAC number, that would be you USCIS case number, and they will ask you your fiance's name, birth date and address.

And you will be given the NVC case number with starts with CDJ......

WOW!!! THANK YOU!!! You have just cleared up SO MANY doubts that I had! And yes! I am most definitely in the "What Should I Do Next Stage?" Thanks to you I have a MUCH BETTER understanding of what steps to take next. Thank You for the tips as well. It's so kind and sweet of you to help others from the mistakes you made. I have one more question if you would please. My fiance is in Mexico. I am here in Dallas, Texas. Can I fill out the DS260 and schedule the appointment from here for him? Or is that something he is going to have to do for himself where he is? I would appreciate your answer so very much! And Thank You SO MUCH for all your help so far!

Does he speaks English? if so, he better does it, the form DS260 is way specific about information, I'm talking about his parents personal info -date and place of birth-, his work address, his personal info -passport number, previous visa, times he has visited US, you know stuff-, information that is easier for him to access, so if I were you I would tell him to do it himself.

Now he can also talk to the NVC and get his case and invoice numbers, they have an automated machine that lets you pick up Spanish, I would recommend English though.

My fiance called and I called, I am the luckier in the relationship, so both of you can call the NVC and see who guess through first.

And you want to get those numbers ASAP, I scheduled my appointment yesterday and the first date available is OCT 7

And it's really easy so I would say let him do it.

Great! Once again Thank You! I'm very glad to hear that you have scheduled the appointment already! Good for you two!!! Please keep in touch and let me know how it all is going! My fiance doesn't speak English and he is not very good with the computer either unfortunately. So if necessary I could fill out the form right?

sure, just ask the information before hand, and the good thing is that you may save your form and pick it up at a later time, it doesn't have to be right that moment :)
