We are looking for a company to move household contents from Greece to the USA. Some, but not much furniture will be going, mostly general household goods. Around 5 to 7 cubic meters I believe. Some items are very fragile and will require special packing.

We are looking for door to door service, and would appreciate any information about moving companies based on personal experiences (good or bad),

Any other tips or information concerning international moving would also be greatly appreciated.

I am going through the same process and hope that my visa will be approved sometime during spring 2014. I will be moving from Athens to NJ. I found this agency and sent them an e-mail to get a quote. Have you already found another agency?

Hi there! We are using this company for the move and we have found them very helpful and attentive so far:

C.V.Μ. INTERNATIONAL FORWARDING & MARINE AGENT LTD.
30, TAYGETOU ST. ΑΝΟ GLYFADA, GREECE 16561
Τel: +30 210-4121302 / +30 210-4223589
Fax: +30 210-4223798
E-mail address:
info@cvm.gr Skype: cvmaragos

Website: www.cvm.gr

Facebook: http:// www.facebook.com/cvmaragos

Contact Evangelia Maragos. They will move and store (if necessary) but will not actually pack your belongings. They can provide boxes though.

For packing up our things we used these people:

Antonatos Transports

PIC: Mr. Antonatos Theodore

Tel: 210 9619739 / cell: 6977911863

They send quite a few people and are very quick and helpful. We looked at a few quotes and they are competitively placed.

Bear in mind that you will need to get quite a lot of paperwork sorted (customs etc) some of which will need to be signed and witnessed at the KEP / local police station so leave plenty of time for that. If you go with CVM they will guide you through the process.

Hope this helps!
